We've had several people reach out asking what our plan is for our 2020 festival in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. We didn't release a statement immediately as we did already push the festival back to September this year to begin with. Right now, we are operating on much of the same uncertainty that all event organizers are facing around the world. Will June 30th be a magical date in which this is all over and events can once again resume? No one knows for sure. Howeve...r, until we know further details, we do not want to cancel the festival just yet. Mind Play started as a festival to share creative works about the struggles that people face with mental health on an every day basis. To break stigmas, to create conversations, and to paint a visual picture. We've been overwhelmed by the support we've received over the past three years, and if we can be, we want to still provide a venue and an opportunity for people to share their stories. We know that times are tough right now, especially with mental health struggles, and dealing with the unknown. There is a lot of fear, worry, and uncertainty. But we will get through this together, even if we're physically apart. If it does end up becoming the safest option for artist and patron's health and safety to cancel the 2020 Mind Play Theatre Festival, we do hope to return earlier than usual in 2021 and give people an opportunity to share their stories. Because your stories deserve to be heard, now more than ever. Stay safe, stay informed, and stay loved, Adam Bryan Artistic Director of Mind Play Theatre Festival
