This is chopped zucchini. It may seem boring but don’t underestimate this summer squash! Chopped frozen zucchini magically blends creamily into smoothies without changing the taste Step 1 wash & chop zucchini ... Step 2 put chopped zucchini in a resealable pouch or container Step 3 store in freezer Step 4 grab a small handful & blend into your next smoothie This veggie is packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber & antioxidants including carotenoids which contribute to healthy skin, support eye health & heart health. Fiber supports digestive health & contributes to healthy blood sugar levels Zucchini is botanically classified as a fruit but I’m a rebel & will call it a veggie Easy to shred & add to baking, chop raw for salads, spiralize as noodles and freeze for smoothies, zucchini is a winner Tag your friend who always grows abundant zucchini’s and is constantly giving them away . You’ve got a great use for them now I’ll be over here dreaming about zucchini in my smoothie tomorrow... #healthhacks #healthyhabits #zucchini #healthyrecipes #healthyfood #fiber #fiberfueled #plantpower #plantpowered #eatwell #livewell #nutritiontips #healthylifestyle #smoothie #smoothiegoals #eatyourveggies #eatyourcolors #makeiteasy #makeithappen #brainhealth

Is it still acceptable to talk about the New Year on January 8? Well, acceptable or not, it's what's happening I've seen all sorts of things online from making resolutions/goals to rejection of resolutions and everything in between! There's a whole lotta opinions about what to do in the presence of a new year.... I'm not here to say make a resolution - or don't make one - I'm here to help you figure out how to make that resolution/goal/habit stick. You know, that thing you've been wanting to conquer or that point of discomfort you can't live with anymore...there are a few things that will help you move from wishing to action 5 Simple Tips to Get Resolutions (or whatever you want to call them) to stick: 1) Establish your WHY (a clear & compelling purpose is needed or you will give up your new habit, figure out the real reason you want to make a change) 2) Start with small changes (bigger does not equal better!); small steps forward win over big, unsustainable leaps 3) Start with a quick win. Do something small that will produce a feeling of accomplishment, your brain likes to win and will reward you when you succeed (also a motivator to keep going) aka motivation. 4) Make it enjoyable. Don't pick hour long gym workouts if you hate going to the gym. It ain't gonna happen. Love to dance? Sign up for dance lessons or Zumba, make it as fun as possible. 5) Include accountability - whether it's a friend, online community, app or coach, have something or someone that you regularly check in with. Hopefully those tips help you move forward into the new year with your resolutions/goals/intentions. Remember that this is a new year but you don't need a new you, the current you is awesome! It's often about a new perspective or shift that you need to make so you become more of the you that you already are If you're looking for accountability from a coach - that could be me I help busy moms go from exhausted to energized, without the overwhelm. Just hanging out over here following my own advice Taking time to eat - just eat - is a simple, FREE way to improve digestion. Our bodies digest food best when we switch into our parasympathetic nervous system (often called rest & digest system). Eating at our desk, scrolling socials, reading and watching tv can all reduce the focus on digestion, and even switch us into a more sympathetic state (fight or flight). ... While eating mindfully is a simple practice it’s not always so simple to achieve. Trust me, I know that the desire to eat quickly or be productive while eating is strong If your digestion could use a helping hand, try eating mindfully (slowly, without any distractions) for one meal a day. Once that feels easy, add another meal. Remember it’s all about the long game using small steps to get there #teamtinychanges If you need some guidance in making healthier habits, send me a DM . I also have a group program - Exhausted to Energized starting on Monday, check out the link in my bio for more info PS that delicious dairy free cheezy sauce is from @coreandrind and is #digestion #digestivesupport #tummytroubles #energyboost #tiredmom #tiredmama #eatwell #lunchtime #lunchbreak #healthylifestyle #healthyliving #healthylivingtips #protip #protips #youareworthy

My favourite neurologists are referencing Canadian news Long term stress is definitely affecting us, in varying ways, as we manage (ok, survive) these times. Long term stress can also affect memory, so it's important to consider this as we go through our days. Check out the latest post from Team Sherzai MD

2021! It's a strange thing heading into a new year after the weirdness of 2020. If you're feeling like 2021 comes in with both hope and trepidation, you're not alone. And since this time of year is great for reflection and resetting, I'll leave you with a few prompts from Dr. Drew Ramsey to get you started:... - This year I felt accomplished when...(this can include simple things like taking a shower or organizing your socks ) - This year was tough, but I learned... - Something I did really well this year was... And if that feels too hard then let it go, come back to this when the time is right. Being able to acknowledge what we are feeling and actually allow space to feel those feelings is part of our well being. It may seem strange to link emotions to physical health but they are connected. For me, this year was tough, but I learned that I can work at my own pace, I can do many things online and I can still build relationships in unique ways. I also learned that even though I'm an introvert, I still want to be where the people are. May this year be filled with moments of hope and gratitude, despite what may come our way! Cheers to you and your health #happynewyear #bringiton #byebye2020 #healthyhabits #lessonslearned #movingon #energyboost #wellness #healthyliving #healthylifestyle #livewell #tiredmom #newbeginnings #reset #rest #hello2021 #newyears #traditions #reflections

Burgers & fries . We love our homemade veggie burgers & fries! And chances are you might like & too . What you choose to eat is seldom an all or nothing thing, although many of us get caught up in diet culture that tells we are either on a diet or off of one. ... . Reality? Your diet is what you eat each day. That’s the literal meaning - the food you consume daily. . Food restriction often leads to food rebellion later . I find that it’s often more helpful to ADD in nutrient dense foods before you take away other foods. . Could you add greens to your burger? Or a greens based pesto? . Could you serve raw veggies & roasted veggies with dinner? . Think about where you can add food that fuels you & it might just begin to sow the seed of change. . Remember that being healthy & well is a long game - quick fixes & fads often do more harm than good! . If you’d like to read more, check out my blog at www.mindswellfed.ca (link in bio) and look for Why the word diet doesn’t mean what you think it does. . If you’re looking for accountability and lasting change, check out my 4 week Exhausted to Energized program starting January 11th!
