I had a beautiful opportunity to go down to the Sydney Mines Miners Memorial Manner last week to photograph a morale boosting picture of their entire staff. I c...ertainly appreciate all of these healthcare workers who have to risk much more than me on a daily basis to care for people. I also know that in a blink of an eye it could be me there as well. I was happy to do this photo. It was really an honour and I hope it lifts their spirits. They could use all of our thoughts and prayers everyday! See more

All of us at the Manor know the weather will soon get nicer making it harder to stay home and follow public health directions. But now more than ever, we need to keep going. For our our residents, our staff, our families, our communities, and for every one on the front lines. PLEASE: - Stay close to home - Maintain physical distance if you do need to go out for essential items - Only exercise in your neighbourhood... - Wash your hands frequently - Be kind to each other be compassionate and use common sense We all see the humor in this meme but we also need to see the seriousness of it as well. Hi Everyone, The following is an update regarding how Miner's Memorial Manor is proactively handling the current global outbreak of Covid 19. Please rest assured that our number one priority is the health and safety of our residents and staff. For several weeks now, visitor restrictions have led to full closure, which although difficult for our Residents and their families, it has put us at an advantage with public access very restricted in the facility.... Miner's Memorial Manor is in regular communication with the Department of Health and Wellness and are under their direction. Some Specific Preventative Measures in Place: Increased cleaning and disinfecting Increased education concerning Covid 19 Precautions Practicing social distancing when and where possible Staff Provincial guidelines are being followed and screening is in place for all staff who have traveled or for anyone who has been in contact with people who have traveled. Supplies: Preparation for this time was put in place for some time prior to the announcement of the pandemic regarding supply levels such as food,propane, nursing supplies, personal protective equipment, etc. Communication with suppliers is ongoing Adjustments have had to be made regarding the daily routines at the Manor but you can rest assured that your loved ones are being provide the same level and quality of care as always. We look forward to opening our doors again and welcoming you back! Stay safe by staying home to stay well!

Jenn Sheppard, Stephen Muise & Jordyn Crocker made a very generous donation of two i-pads to the Manor. This very talented musical family have been holding weekly "Garbage Night Sessions" live music sessions on Facebook to raise money for various causes.Our residents are very grateful for this cause.
