Physiotherapists are direct-access practitioners, meaning patients can visit physiotherapists directly (self-referral) without waiting for a physician referral.... Physiotherapy self-referral benefits both patients and the health-care system! Patient benefits include: Better outcomes (e.g. pain) for the patient Increased likelihood that patients will achieve their treatment goals Self-referred patients miss less work Self-referred patients also use less prescription drugs and have fewer x-rays and require fewer visits to their physician Reduced volume of referrals to specialists Overall health-care costs for self-referred patients are lower You can also find physiotherapists in a variety of health care settings including private clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, community centres, in homes, universities, research groups, and community outreach teams. Anyone interested in a wide new proper AT bike lane added on to the Mineville Rd. re-paving project?!! Pls. email the city [email protected] and voice your support right away, as the paving starts in 3-4 weeks.
Just another day at the clinic quickly getting use to the new normal rules and disinfecting procedures, although drinking coffee is challenging
We are open and have clients booked starting Fri. June 5th. Asking everyone to please wear a mask of any kind before entering the building. Thx. see you soon! :)
We are excited be re-opening on Friday, June 5, 2020 as per the NS Gov. announcement. There will be new precautionary measures in place for social distancing and disinfecting along with following new guidelines from the NS College of Physiotherapists. These measures are in order to keep everyone as safe as can be and avoid another shutdown. We will be reaching out to all of our previously scheduled clients over the next week to see how you’re doing. If you are not already a... client and would like an appointment please call 902-829-2209. THANK YOU for your patience and continued support, hope to see everyone soon. Tim Brooks, PT

There is more than one way to open up the hips without seeing a Physio!!! We sure are missing our fantastic clients at the clinic and hope everyone is staying safe and socially distant Hope to re-open soon as we can. Stay tuned.
--- It is with great sadness that we will be closing our doors temporarily due to the spread of Covid-19. After considering the recommendations of the Nova Scotia Government and Public Health, "As of Thursday, 19 March. Organizations and businesses are required to practise social distancing of two metres (6 feet)", we feel it's best to suspend non-emergency Physiotherapy at this time. I'll attempt to follow up with all current clients over the next 1-2 months or earlier if po...ssible. Feel free to call 902-829-2209 and leave a msg. or email: [email protected] For the most accurate and up-to-date info. on Covid-19 visit https://novascotia.ca/coronavirus/ We thank you and sincerely appreciate your business, not to mention truely enjoy our jobs! Hope to see you in the near future :) Tim Brooks, PT Sarah MacKeigan, PT
Here are a few good ideas! :)
A great graphic on how and when to Self-Monitor or Self-Isolate from Public Health. https://www.canada.ca//know-difference-self-monitoring-iso
In case you were wondering, we are Open! Some new precautions we'll be adding over the next few weeks/months: Extra sanitizing of high touch areas and more regular cleaning between patients.... We would ask anyone who feels ill, has flu like symptoms or just returned from outside Canada to stay home for 2 weeks and we’ll try to offer advice/exercises over the phone or email. We will be adding extra time between bookings so each person is treated individually. Which is mostly how our clinic works anyway :) I've also posted a great graphic on how and when to Self-Monitor or Self-Isolate from Public Health. Stay Well and enjoy some increased time outside! SAVE THE DATE: The MINEVILLE EARTH DAY ROADSIDE CLEANUP will be held on SATURDAY APRIL 18. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of ‘Earth Day’! ... We encourage everyone to join us at Bennett Park on April 18 to help us take part in the ‘Earth Day Great Global Cleanup’ by helping us clean up the sides of the roads around the Mineville community. Let's show off what a great a place we live in and how much we love living here! Everyone is welcome at Bennett Park on Saturday April 18 starting at 9:00 am to register as a ‘Mineville Miner’ and pick up bags, gloves, high visibility vests, pickers, water, safety instructions and cleanup area assignments. All ages are welcome! Even if you can only volunteer for an hour or two your help is valued by all! Over the last few years the Mineville group of roadside clean up volunteers, affectionately named the ‘Mineville Miners’, have collected literally TONS of garbage, showcasing to our fellow community members, the benefits of putting the effort in to keep our community clean. Mark your calendars now, we hope to see you on April 18th! Let’s start off the Summer of 2020 with a good cleaning of all the Winter litter that has built up in the ditches. More info will be provided closer to the event date, questions can be sent to Gary Stronach at [email protected]. The rain date for the Mineville Earth Day Roadside Cleanup will be Sunday April 19th. #EarthDay2020 #GreatGlobalCleanup #MinevilleMiners #KeepingMinevilleBeautiful Earth Day Network
