Five more mini landscapes were dropped off at The General Store in Weyburn today. A few spring ones and a classic scene of an elevator and canola. Stop in to have a look. The General Store
Those big blue sunny skies are a saving grace for our prairie winters. I needed more sky fabric so tore off a chunk from an old damask table cloth. The fabric was dipped in diluted acrylic paint then hung to dry. The splotchy results are perfect for my needs.
How do I make those winter trees? Scroll to see what I started with.
From a swirly greenish length of fabric to trees on the horizon, how do I make them? The greenish fabric was purchased at a thrift shop as I could see its potential for landscapes. Green acrylic paint was added for summer trees , gold for fall trees. ... Cut strips from the painted fabric to imitate a tree line. These strips are then cut in two so one edge is straight. Added to the pieced and stitched mini landscape for added detail.
