WTF is a pessary? I often tell people to think of a pessary like a bra for your vagina and pelvic floor. We wear bra’s to support us through out the day for various reasons, sometimes our vaginas need that kind of support to: -Support during exercise -Give relief without having surgery ... -Get through the day without symptoms How does a pessary work? -They are inserted vaginally -They help to support the walls of the vagina or other organs that are not being supported due to prolapse -They can be easily put in and taken out -They come in every shape and size to fit any shape and size! How do I know if I need one, and where do I get one? -Not everyone ‘needs’ one, but most women with any grade of prolapse can benefit from one -Gynecologist are often the ones to fit a pessary. If you want more info about a pessary, send me a message or talk to your pelvic floor physio. #yyjfitmom #yyjmom #yyj #pelvicfloor #pessary #postpartumbody #yyjfitness #momlife

FAQ Friday: Is (insert babies age) to young for class? How old do the babies need to be to come to class? As moms we are always thinking of others, especially our babies first. Naturally we ask, at what age is it ok for BABY to be at class? The real question should be, at what point postpartum is it ok for me to join class? ... To answer the question about children at class, the younger the better for multiple reasons. They can’t run away, or climb all over you yet. They are usually content in a stroller, carrier or watching the world go by. As they grow up coming to a class and watching mom (or dad) workout will be a part of their routine. I’ve had babies as young as 7 weeks all the way to 5 years old! Let’s get serious and answer the postpartum question: Ideally you are at least 4 weeks post vaginal birth or 6 weeks post c section with medical clearance to begin exercising. Lochia (postpartum bleeding) has stopped, and doesn’t begin again when you exercise. You feel physically and mentally prepared to exert yourself. When returning to exercise remember to take it slow, focus on form and breathing. Things may feel different than before baby, that is completely normal, your body went through an enormous amount of stress, it will take time to repair. Remember to have fun, movement should not be so darn serious #yyjmomboss #yyjfitmom #yyjfitmoms #yyjmom #postpartumbody #postpartumjourney #postpartumfitness #yyj

What’s up Mini & Me Family! I’ve had a couple new followers over the past little while so I thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Kylie, I live and teach in the Westshore with my husband and 2 kids.... Just a couple happy mamas. Thank you all for trusting me during this season of your life. I know it’s challenging to get out of the house some days, or take (or find) 20-30 minutes to complete an online workout. Just know that I see you, I acknowledge the challenge some days bring, and will encourage you every step of the way with a smile on my face and ears that are always open to listen. Remember, smile, it’s only a workout. Let’s not take it too seriously #yyjmomboss #yyjfitmom #yyjfitmoms #yyjmom #postpartumbody #momlife #yyjmentalhealth #momandme
