Betty White was once quoted as saying she didn’t work for a living but to give to the animals. We feel the same way. The Minpinerie is an Ottawa based volunteer run dog rescue. All of your donations go directly to the animals we rescue. I sit here wondering how much this Angel made for animals in need worldwide!! AMAZING!!!!!!!

This is our Betty, the dog who was under the credenza, she is now lay on my lap. Now it is not really good yet, she can be patted gently ,but we can’t lift her or handle her . But she is on my lap and taking treats and tiny steps

UPDATE; Poupee had the eye surgery and it went well. She is home recovering Her tail nub is wagging again, and she is coming back to being her sassy self. ...With the eye gone, so is the pain. She is back to bossing people around for meals, treats or a pet. Next week she has her post surgery check up, and we are hoping she gets the all clear and the e-collar finally comes off (the vet insisted this was the only collar she was to wear, perfectly measured so she could not get to the eye) Poupee hates the way it limits her from carrying around the big fluffy toys she prefers. THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO DONATED TO HELP TOWARDS THE COST OF THIS IMPORTANT SURGERY. MINPINERIE JIS STILL ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO COVER THE COST OF THIS SURGERY AND TO HELP OTHER CURRENT DOGS IN RESCUE GET THE VETTING THEY NEED BEFORE GOING TO THEIR FOREVER HOME. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Loulou(online)'s own current foster dog, a beautiful, smart, sassy, french speaking senior, (the dog, not louise........well ....maybe the dog AND Louise!) has to have a specialized and expensive emergency surgery. She will lose one of her eyes, It needs to be removed completely. It is the right thing to do to avoid her recurrent pain and chances of re-infection. or glaucoma. For those who know Louise personally, you know she has a birthday coming up. Any donations to the rescue to help with this expense would be greatly appreciated. If you were thinking of giving Loulou something then, she'd love nothing more than a donation now, to help our Rescue recoup this unexpected expense. Then we can continue to replenish our emergency funds to continue to help other rescue dogs. We are currently vetting 6 dogs in preparation for adoption. FOSTER PARENT URGENTLY NEEDED FOR TONY THE MINPIN. TONY IS 8 YEARS OLD, INTACT MALE (TO BE NEUTERED ASAP) Dog friendly cat and spayed female or very friendly neutered male dog ok No kids for now, till we know more. We are told he is a nice dog. housebroken to use balcony with previous owner, so I guess you could say he is apt trained, but ideally a home with a secure yard and someone who is home a lot would be ideal for now.... Arrives into rescue Sunday. Needs full vetting, vacc neuter and dental at our expense before adoption. Sorry no photo available yet. Update: Furever home has been found. LOOKING FOR MY FOREVER HOME!!!! Savanna, a 3 year old, 13lb minpin female is now available for adoption. Savanna is a "tripod".... She recently had her rear right leg amputated because of a very bad break that could not be repaired and was causing her a great deal of pain. Now the pain is gone. Savanna is walking again, exploring and being a typical minpin. Savanna has separation anxiety and needs to be with an owner who is retired or works from home. NO cats, dogs, or other small animals.Kids over 12 ok. Any adopter will have to follow a strict exercise regimen and food control with Savanna, since she needs to maintain her ideal weight so as not to put her remaining hind leg under too much stress. She is a cuddly pretty girl. Ideally Savanna would be in her new home by January 3rd, since her foster family are being called back to working at the office. SAVANNA IS IN OTTAWA, ONTARIO. Looking for a great cause to donate to this Christmas? While so much of life seems to have slowed down or stopped this year, we haven’t stopped working. We’re still taking in dogs, paying for veterinary care and re-homing small dogs across Canada. All on a much reduced budget due to our inability to run many of our in person fundraisers. Alumni Jack recently crossed the rainbow bridge. We received this note from his family: Jack was here with us for 2yrs and 4mos. I am glad I was able to give him a loving home during that time so he could hopefully forget what he had previously been through. He was a wonderful dog with a sweet personality. He taught Tilly a thing or two about how dogs can interact with their pet parents. She is a more friendly, trusting animal today because of how she saw him behave with me. ...It was a gift he gave us. Jack’s quality of life had plummeted. He was deaf, blind because of cataracts, had thyroid problems, and had an enlarged heart because of the constant honking with collapsing trachea, and no longer able to make it through most nights without a couple of trips outside. I did all the vets recommended, but they couldn’t stop the decline. I finally made the difficult decision for him, that he had had enough. Our home seems very quiet, because the usual backdrop of Jack’s honking is gone. I am glad he doesn’t have to do that anymore. But, of course, I miss him. Thanks for arranging for him to come home to me.
