For those of you who have attended all of our events here in Cross Creek. Mary McAloon Hay is the woman who greeted you at the gate, welcomed you, reviewed Covid Protocols with you, made you feel welcome, 4 sanction matches and 3 all-breed shows. ALL AS A VOLUNTEER from the village. Not a dog person, just a great person, Mary is very active in the music community in Stanley and also works at the local seniors' home. A contribution, however small, from members of the dog show community would let her know that we appreciate her and the village of Stanley for allowing us to hold events here. Thanks for considering this worthwhile cause. Patrick

Thanks, Amanda Kelly. Great piece. Hopefully it will stimulate some serious discussion and encourage breeders to get their pet people involved in some aspect of our sport.

Excited about our show this coming weekend and we're VERY busy. The provincial guidelines are very clear regarding controlled access to the site, adequate screening and social distancing. We are all in this together and need to make sure that anyone passing by sees a well organized event that at no time looks like a mob or a party. To that end, we are assigning parking spaces for the weekend, and they will be a minimum of 20X20, large enough for your vehicle, pop-up tent, gr...ooming equipment, generator or anything else you need to make your set-up comfortable for the weekend. Same space all weekend. It will be where you will be spending most of your time, when you are not in the ring, so bring whatever you need to make it as comfortable as possible. Please have your waivers filled out, one for each person in the vehicle, and give yourself lots of time to enter because COVID screening is essential. If you would like to be set up next to someone else you could let us know by sending a message on the Miramichi Kennel CLub's facebook page. Just let us know who you want to be near and we will do everything we can to make it happen. If you need more space please let us know. Campers, could you let us know if you're driving a camper van, a can with trailer or a BUS? ;) The more we can get right ahead of time the easier it will be on the day of the show. See more

We want to let all of our obedience/rally competitors know that our original post ( which follows) regarding event times is correct and that a revised judging schedule will be sent out showing the classes at the correct times. This was the original post, which we stand by: "We want to let obedience/Rally exhibitors know that to keep our numbers low and to have the equipment handled as little as possible, we will have two rally trials back to back on the Saturday morning and 2 obedience trials in the afternoon, and on Sunday they will be flipped, 2 obedience in the morning and two rally in the afternoon."

Guess what this means! A not so subtle message here!

Miramichi Kennel Club 26.06.2020

Well great news came today!! Our club's change of status to EVENT HOLDING has been approved by CKC. Thanks to everyone who supported us by responding to the "Publish for Comments"! And our club and all of our supporters owe a huge thank you to Paul Oslach who bent over backwards for us and did everything to ensure that this happened! His support and encouragement were constant and he was there for us throughout the entire process, from beginning to end!

Miramichi Kennel Club 19.06.2020

A huge thank you to Lisa Parsons, one of our match judges for next weekend's event. She is making all of the prizes for bests in match and high in trials. Can't explain how great it feels to work with people like Lisa who have such enthusiasm and positive energy! I love the " You wanna do it? Let's do it! Get er done!"-attitude!! Thanks Lisa!!

Miramichi Kennel Club 13.06.2020

Lisa Parsons is donating hand made prizes for all group placements, best in match, puppy, altered and graduate, and high scores in obedience and rally. Such a generous lady, and so talented. I've seen a few pics that I will post. Just a few at a time to tease you. Thank you Lisa.

Miramichi Kennel Club 27.05.2020

Well here we are into August, and we'd like to remind you that CKC's "publish for comments" page has the Miramichi Kennel Club's request to change to event holding status, so if you are a CKC member and like what we've done so far, please give us your vote of approval. You have to log in to the CKC members section, click on the RESOURCES tab at the top, and then "Publish for Comments" in the drop-down bar. In the publish for comments you will see Miramichi kennel club PDF. You have to print it, fill it out and send it in snail mail or scan it and email it to [email protected] and put ATTENTION: SHOWS AND TRIALS in the subject line. It's a bit complicated but it would be really appreciated if you could take the time to do this for us!

Miramichi Kennel Club 12.05.2020

Well, can it get any better than this? Lisa Parsons has agreed to be one of the judges for our sanction match on August 15, .2020 along with Barbara Orr. Barbara will judge groups 1,2 and 7 and Lisa will judge groups 3,4,5&6 and ALL GENERAL SPECIALS. In addition, Lisa has offered to do a trick dog seminar in the morning of Sunday, August 16, with testing and certificates offered in the afternoon for anyone who would like a Trick Dog title on their dog. Once again, anyone who ...would like to come for the weekend is welcome to camp here Friday and Saturday evening. Tents, trailers, motorhomes. Whatever you have but no water or electrical services offered, but you can run a generator EVERYONE MUST SOCIAL DISTANCE, masks MUST be worn if a distance of 6' is not achievable, and they are encouraged at all times. The cost for the trick dog seminar is $25 ( includes lunch and afternoon testing) and we are taking pre-registration for the first 20 spots. That's the number we can handle safely indoors if the weather is bad. If it's a nice day we will open it to more participants on the day. To pre-register email me at [email protected] We are looking forward to this great weekend and welcome any and all Miramichi Kennel Club supporters from the Atlantic bubble who are COVID-19 BELIEVERS and who take seriously the protocols put in place by our Public Health Departments.

Miramichi Kennel Club 05.05.2020

Well, after the success of our last set of sanction matches, Miramichi Kennel Club is keen to do it again! One our conformation judges ended up 5 dogs short for her numbers and our Rally judge needs just a few more entries ( especially in Novice, so I have my boy Echo learning a few moves!!) Our club is committed to education in all aspects of the sport of purebred dogs and helping prospective judges is a big part of that. So here we go with one more waltz around the dance fl...oor on Saturday, August 15, 2020. Same ring times ( Rally 10am, Conformation at noon and Obedience at 1pm) so gas up, mask up and let's have another great day with our dogs and our friends ( 6 feet apart, of course). And you'll get to see the latest addition to our show site! Save the date, August 15, 2020! We're committed to Barbara Orr to make sure she gets her last few dogs, but maybe we could fit in another judge. If you're interested and "live in the bubble" send me a note! See more
