Miramichi Valley Minor Baseball 05.01.2021

It’s National Coaches week and we would like to thank all of ours, who made this season one to remember, despite the challenges! It was a season when we asked coaches to take on extra responsibilities, and they stepped up without hesitation, getting our players back on the field for a summer of baseball. So to all our coaches...THANK YOU from our Twins players and parents!

The U13 Twins (Red) wrapped up their season with a split vs the Moncton Cubs. The Twins dropped the first game 13-9 after having a very slow start, surrendering 12 runs in the first 3 innings. The Twins settled down and started to chip away but the comeback fell short, having left the bases loaded with 1 out in the 7th. Connor Lemay and Lincoln Allison led the way with 2 hits each and runs were scored by 9 different Twins. Some of the Twins got to hear calls from umpire Craig... "Hopey" Hope for the first time and he did not disappoint, "Striiiiiiiiike". In game two, Cooper Haining led the way with 3 hits and 2 runs scored, Alex Lavigne and Aedan Wakelin each chipped in with 2 hits and 2 runs scored and 7 other Twins picked up hits. Jacob O'Toole shut out the Cubs for the first 3 innings which allowed the Twins to find their groove before passing it over to Lemay in the 4th to close things out. The Twins would like to thank coaches Michael Berube, Greg Keating, Gary Traer, Jason Pickford and manager Pam Keating for a great season and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the diamond in 2021.

Sawyer Singleton, Noah Ryder and Cooper Burns (AP) were all 3 for 4 at the plate. The second match-up of the day was a much closer game, with the Twins behind 3-0 going into the sixth when the bats came alive. Ending the se...venth tied 4-4, the Twins prevailed to win 7-6 in the eighth. Sawyer Singleton had a solid start, followed by Cameron Leblanc and Henry Walsh who records the win. It was a great summer for the 13U Twins Competitive blue. Despite the irregular season off the field, the boys made the most of their time on the diamond, and will hopefully continue to practice in the off-season for another great summer in 2021! Many, many thanks to all the parents and fans who were incredibly patient and supportive throughout the season. You are the best. #gotwins #summersperfectgame #seeyounextyear
