Please welcome MISA’s 2021/22 Incoming President, Edward Hu Edward is a 4th-year business student concentrating in Management Information Systems and Operations Management. He has been a member of MISA for the past 2 years as a Workshop Coordinator and the Vice President of Events. He is proud to serve the MIS community at Beedie and incredibly excited to start his 3rd year with MISA. For his presidential term, he plans to highlight new strategies that give both his te...am and the MIS community opportunities focused on self-development and professional growth. Fun facts about Ed: He is a huge biology nerd who’s obsessed with fitness and nutrition (he almost did a minor in BPK) He loves computer hardware. Being an avid computer builder for the past decade, he has built 15+ desktop computers. As well, he’s been an advocate for reducing electronic waste and pollution by volunteering to recycle/repair laptops and graphics cards! His favourite music genre is HEAVY METAL A message from Ed: Joining MISA was the best decision I’ve made in University. After being with the club for 2 years, I’ve gained invaluable experiences training me to be the best version of myself. Maturity, leadership, and self-confidence. This is what MISA taught me. Thank you to everyone who attended our MIS Link #2 workshop yesterday We hope you enjoyed learning about artificial intelligence and digital transformation as much as we did. A huge thank you also goes to our speaker, Ahmar Kazi, for volunteering his time to deliver an insightful presentation about the current and future state of the business technology space, the implications of artificial intelligence, and the ways in which companies leverage artificial intelligence to op...timize their business. We also enjoyed learning about his experience as an Innovation Architect at Microsoft and listening to his advice for students who wish to pursue careers in business technology.
