May 5th marks the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in America. Back before spring break Miskooseepi Culture and Lan...guage teacher Yvonne Young took students out to the Long Body Creek, and Bloodvein River bridges to tie red ribbons to the bridge, and hang a red dress in honor and remembrance of MMIWG. The high rate of Indigenous women and girls that go missing or murdered is an epidemic that knows no boundaries. Miskooseepi School stands with all those affected, and adds it's voice to the calls for justice for all MMIWG across Turtle Island.
