My youngest student (2 1/2 mo.) was singing to her mother today during the lullaby. Reminds me of this video clip. It's never too early for that precious interaction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH6msTsClUs

'Ride-o-Ride-O' - keeping the beat with a 'horsey - ride'; 'Paw Paw Patch' - keeping the beat when we march around the room and when we pick up paw-paws; 'Thread my Gradmother's needle' - keeping the beat when we sway; 'This is the Mother' - keeping the beat as we do our finger rhyme; 'Pitty, Patty Polt' - keeping the beat as we shoe our horses; 'She'll be coming 'round the Mountain - keeping the beat as toot toot & whoa back & yahoo! And having so much fun with peers and grown-ups. But of course there's lots more to it than just our playfulness. Science is showing what parents have know for generations - singing, playing and interacting with our children in playful ways grows their brains!
