Did you know hands-on sight word activities merge students’ kinesthetic learning with visual learning? In this video our student is using alphabet blocks to gain a more hands-on learning experience while practicing her sight words. Sight words are commonly used words that young readers are taught to memorize. These words need to be memorized and recognized by sight. Learners are encouraged not to decode the words using general phonics patterns. There are variety of ways for students to learn and use sight words. Frequent exposure is key!
