| No words can explain how I am feeling. My heart hurts. Since the start of Covid, asian hate crimes have increased significantly. All of this because of an ongoing narrative that asians brought Covid upon us. ... Thats not the case. These hate crimes have been on-going for a very very long time. We have dealt with this in silence for far too long. It is devastating to know that our brothers and sisters are being robbed, beaten, pushed, stabbed, and killed every day. I am so hurt, outraged, and saddened that we have to even talk about this. Last night, a white male walked into 3 different spas/parlours in Atlanta and shot and killed 8 people. 6 of them being asian women. Enough is enough! These senseless hate crimes need to end! We stand in solidarity with the AAPI community and everyone fighting against racism, hate, and violence of any kind. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to the family and friends of the 8 victims of yesterdays hate crime killing in Atlanta, Georgia and the thousands of others who have faced violence for being unapologetically asian. At the end of the day we are all HUMAN. Despite our visual differences, we all bleed the same color. It is time to speak up, educate, and shed light.
