This May we would like to raise $7000* to support the development of a Youth Ambassador program. Help us to grow missional disciples of Jesus in Canada and around the world this May by giving to the Missional Innovation Campaign. May is a month where we get to see life bloom all around us. We can't forget that true life has only one source - Jesus. Knowing Jesus and growing as a disciple is a lifelong process, and each of us has a part to play in making Jesus known and helping others grow.

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus. Since its start in May 2016, God has grown Thy Kingdom Come from a dream of possibility into a movement. Christians from 172 countries have taken part in praying "Come Holy Spirit", so that friends and family, neighbours and colleagues might come to faith in Jesus Christ. This praying together has been across our diversity and differences as every person, household and church are encouraged to pray in their own way.

His authority on earth allows us to dare to go to all the nations. His authority in heaven gives us our only hope of success. And His presence with us leaves us no other choice. John R. W. Stott

TAJIKSTAN: The birth of a Tajik Church, although a slow and painstaking process, is now a reality. The Church among Tajiks is small, only a thousand, but growin...g. Islam in the religion of 94% of the population. Because Tajikstan is close to Iran and Afghanistan, some more radical Muslims cross the borders and promote extremist teachings. Pray that their goals might be thwarted, and that many Muslims will have opportunities to discover Christ. http://www.operationworld.org/today - - - - #operationworld #prayforthenations #prayfortheworld #prayer #prayers #dailyprayer #biblestudy #christianprayer #prayerfortoday #Christianity #prayerchangesthings #prayeveryday #prayerwarrior #evangelicals #christianfaith #christianchurch #dailybible #biblejournaling #prayerjournal #prayerjournaling See more

THIS Saturday: Nov 28, 10 AM Housing unaffordability has become a growing issue that drives people away from our neighbourhoods. Yet we also know the importance of having a place to call home. We believe the church has a role in fostering a sense of home and belonging. In this context, how can followers of Christ creatively foster affordable housing options? Hear stories of various approaches other churches are taking to address housing issues in their neighbourhoods and to c...reate homes, and discuss ways to articulate a theology of place that can shape your church's involvement in housing as an expression of your mission. This one-day event is part of the ongoing Missional Leadership Certificate offered through St. Andrews Hall at UBC. CityGate Leadership Forum and the Co:Here Foundation have opened up registration to groups outside the program. The cost for this online event is $20 per person, or $40 for groups of 3 or more from the same church. https://www.facebook.com/events/667834193867858/

Mission Central Director John Hall writes in Light Magazine: Giving generously is an important part of our discipleship. Paul, in I and II Corinthians, makes it clear that through our giving we show our love for each other as Christians, we show our unity overcoming barriers such as Jew and Gentile or Black and White and we show our care for the poor and disadvantaged in a practical way. https://lightmagazine.ca//the-importance-of-generous-giving

"A missional approach to theology arises from the conviction that the triune God is, by God’s very nature, a missionary God and that therefore the church of this God is missionary by its very nature. The idea of mission is at the heart of the biblical narratives concerning the work of God in human history. The missional call to the church is captured in the words of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John: As the Father has sent me, so I send you (John 20:21). David Bosch obse...rves that mission is derived from the very nature of God and must be situated in the context of the doctrine of the Trinity rather than ecclesiology or soteriology. In this context the logic of the classical doctrine of the missio Dei expressed as God the Father sending the Son, and the Father and the Son sending the Spirit, may be expanded to include another movement: Father, Son and Spirit sending the church into the world. "We encourage church and mission leaders to think not only of mission among those with a disability, but to recognize, affirm and facilitate the missional calling of believers with disabilities themselves as part of the Body of Christ." "Lausanne Disability Concerns Network is asking local church and Christian organizational leaders to include called and gifted young leaders with disabilities in church and organization leadership roles. Suggestions include: (1) Encourage a yo...ung person with a disability to use their gifts in church and to find their calling or vocation; (2) Invite a young person with a disability to work alongside you in a leadership role, providing mentorship and assistance as needed; and (3) Lead the way in placing called, gifted, and trained people with disabilities in local church and Christian organizational and leadership roles. "Young leaders with disabilities can make a path in reaching and caring for the one in seven people who have disabilities. And they all will be a blessing to their local church or Christian organization." https://www.lausanne.org/networks/issues/disability-concerns

"Once our eyes are firmly focused on Jesus, remembering that he is the Lord of the Nations, let’s ask him to soften our hearts for our American neighbours and not just the ones we identify with politically or theologically. We can’t just love the groups of Americans that we respect while ignoring or judging the ones we don’t. That wasn’t how Jesus treated us. When we were far from God, his enemies, railing against him, and his ways he tenderly loved us. "Let’s pray with a pure heart, being careful not to allow our Canadian propensity for self-righteousness to seep into our prayers. We are no better, Canada is no less needy. "The basis for respect is rooted in our affirmation of the freedom God gave each of us to pursue the truth part of our human dignity. We may not agree with others’ conclusions, but we acknowledge the freedom to disagree without fear of punishment. "Respect is an expression of the fruit of the spirit which includes forbearance, kindness and self-control (Galatians 5:23). In the giving of respect, we do not diminish what we believe, nor do we compromise what we believe. "I fi...nd it is those who take their own faith seriously as seekers after truth who often afford the greatest respect to others who likewise are grounded in their faith, and understand themselves to be on a journey taking a principled stand with humility and persuasion." https://www.faithtoday.ca//2020-Nov-Dec/Joining-Conscience
