We're saying goodbye to another one of our student staff members this week For the last two months, Tara has been our Community Engagement Assistant helping the Programs Team facilitate events and workshops, and creating resources for our associates. When asked about what she had learned at MP, she shared "that people are resilient. I have seen how people at MP are coming together during this pandemic to support one another and adapt to difficult circumstances, often with a... great sense of humor and a lot of care for one another. I also learned why work is important for reasons beyond a paycheque. Every day, I saw how work provides purpose, connection, and empowerment." Thank you for all your hard work, Tara! Gem walked by the Mission Possible office every day for six years, but it wasn't until she befriended an MP associate and heard about the close family-like bonds at MP that she had a spark of interest in joining our program. Having struggled with negative work environments, an abusive household, and back pain, Gem has overcome many challenges in her life. At MP, she found a place with a supportive work environment and a fresh start, and hasn't looked back since. Gem has now ...embraced several roles at MP, including taking on a part-time cleaning position recently!
