It is never too early to start ... and never too late to keep trying. Parents & Caring Adults here are some ideas about how to connect with our kids at differ...ent ages. We know having caring, connected conversations can have a big impact on the mental health of children and youth. Thank you to the amazing and generous Karen Peters, RCC ThriveLife Counselling & Wellness for creating this resource. #BellLetsTalk See more

Sometimes we need help with how to talk about mental health with our kids, it's okay to need help. We all want it to go well. This is a tool created by famili...es for families and caring adults who are parenting a child or youth who is struggling with their mental health. It is for those times when you are feeling concerned for your child and are looking for some different ways to talk about it with them, so it can help the conversation go well. This tool offers some suggestions of language we use and how we say things to further support our relationship with our kids and stay connected to them. Community Foundation Fund Facts Friday: John & BJ Pearson Fund John and BJ Pearson are long-time residents of Mission. They believe that everyone should have th...e chance to improve themselves. Young adults entering the workforce need post-secondary education to obtain steady, well-paying jobs. They encourage young adults to explore their preferred vocation for job possibilities prior to entering their chosen field. John believed in maintaining a respectful work environment with his peers and the citizens of Mission throughout his RCMP career. He also served on Mission city council for three terms and is an active volunteer in the community. The Pearson’s are passionate about our community and they want to ensure their legacy continues by creating the John & BJ Pearson fund to provide scholarships to Mission students entering the RCMP, Emergency Services or Nursing. Since it’s inception in 2014, this fund has provided 7 students with $1000 each towards their post secondary education. If you would like to help a Mission student enter RCMP, Emergency Services or Nursing, please donate today. #WhatsOnMission #ILoveMission #MissionBC #Community #Foundation #FundFacts
