If you're feeling especially stressed (as many of us are during this ominous and unpredictable second wave), you might be happy to hear that you can enjoy a yoga practice and a massage (or other treatment) at a brand new yoga and wellness clinic in Mississauga. Natural Alignments, a clinic specializing in yoga, massage, physiotherapy, meditation and more, opened the doors to its bright and spacious facility late last month. The clinic, which boasts a spacious yoga studio tha...t overlooks the Courtney Park entertainment complex, offers Hatha, Hatha flow, restorative/meditation and ELDOA (a stretching and strengthening technique for the spine and joints of the body) yoga classes Monday to Friday. According to the company's website, all express lunchtime yoga classes are free until Dec. 18. As far as other services go, the clinic also offers massage, acupuncture, athletic therapy, concussion therapy, physiotherapy, meditation, talk therapy, internal health services and more.

GO Transit is celebrating 50 years of its iconic green buses serving Ontarians. Over the last five decades, the company has changed significantly--when it was first founded in the 1970’s, it was an on-demand service that would pick you up right from your front door. But GO Transit isn't the only thing to have changed a lot during this span of time; from 1971 to 1976 Ontario's population rose from 7.7 million people to 8.2 million people.... To put these numbers in perspective, in 2016, the city of Toronto's population alone was listed at more than 2.7 million people according to Statistics Canada--nearly a third of the entire population of Ontario in 1971. Considering the population boom that was happening at the time, GO Transit began experimenting with an on-demand transportation service that took customers from their home to select subway stations and plazas.

Those who have thirsted for the normality of a visit to a gallery or museum over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic can now take in a thoughtful, immersive exhibit in Mississauga that explores "the human experience of war." WAR Flowers: A Touring Art Exhibitiona show "about Canadians, about flowers and about the human experience of war"recently opened at the Living Arts Centre. The exhibit, which is presented by Museums of Mississauga and free to attend, will be open to v...isitors (reservations are required) until Dec. 13, 2020. The Museums of Mississauga is also presenting a local connection to the First World War through the Bradley Museum’s exhibit, Our Boys: Mississauga’s Fallen Soldiers 1914-1918 as well as a Speaker’s Series that focuses on the stories of soldiers from Black and Indigenous communities. According to a news release, Mississauga is the seventh and final stop for WAR Flowers, which has appeared in Quebec, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton and France.
