Mississauga Lodge #524 GRC 12.11.2020

The brethren of Mississauga Lodge gathered today to bid farewell to Bro. Stevan Isakovic who suddenly passed to the GLA last Sunday. A well-liked member of the lodge, Bro. Isakovic leaves behind his wife and son and his cheerful demeanour will be sorely missed in lodge.

An event notice of interest to Mississauga Lodge brethren. As River Park Lodge is our mother lodge, perhaps we can make this a "Four Generations of Lodges" evening. :) "It pleases me to inform you that Ionic Lodge 229 in Brampton is hosting a "Three Generations of Lodges" night, this Tuesday, February 11, 2014. In attendance will be:... Ionic 25 from Don Valley District Ionic 229 (host lodge, and formed by Ionic 25 in 1870) River Park 356 (formed by Ionic 229 in 1876) Can you please advise the lodges of our district, as well as put a notice on the district website. It is going to be an evening rarely witnessed. Social hour starts at 6pm, with dinner shortly thereafter. Lodge opens for business at 7pm, with visitors entering shortly after 730pm. S&F, W. Bro David A Barnwell 229, WM"

As most of you are aware, the Philippines are suffering in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan, current death toll estimated somewhere around 1,000 souls, a number which will most certainly rise if humanitarian aid isn't quick in arriving. Mississauga Lodge #524 GRC is fortunate to include many Filipino brethren and this tragedy weighs heavily on them with worries for family and friends. With that in mind, wherever you might be, please donate what your heart might be disposed t...o give to help relieve their suffering. Also, between now and December 9th, the Government of Canada will also match Canadian donations made to recognised charities, an opportunity strongly recommended to our fellow Canadian brethren to maximise the help to the afflicted. http://bit.ly/Philippines_relief Below is a link to the Red Cross donation page http://bit.ly/Red_Cross_Philippines_Relief Just as a note of caution, unfortunately at times such as this 'charities' pop up to take advantage of the giving tendencies of the charitable, such 'charities' siphoning-off a scandolous percentage of the donations before passing along a pittance. Please direct your donations to the well-known names in disaster relief and be careful of sound-alikes whose names sound close but somehow not quite right.
