The magic is in the small details. This commonly used exercise known as the heel raise and heel drop can be used for improving dynamic control, getting the tibialis posterior muscle to eccentrically control the pronation of the talocrural joint and the rotation of the tibia. It is important to rotate the entire body through the ankle joint only. Basically, when you run, you use muscles to decelerate your body's joints. These muscles need to have good tensile strength and forc...e production while lengthening. They have to be trained to work properly or your body will compensate. In this particular case, in weak and inactive deceleraters, common issues that may arise are plantar fasciitis, achilles and tib post tendinitis, etc. Not to mention all of the other joints in the kinetic chain above (knee, hip, spine). #Thisisrehab #doyoulift? #lift #liftphysiotherapy #physiotherapymississauga #physiotherapyetobicoke #runnersofinstagram #sportsinjury #calfstrength #plantarfasciitis #achilles
