Be sure to visit our OnLine Fall Sale on November 21-22, where works of various artists, including those of VICKI RUPLE LEPE will be featured. "I am a graduate of the Sheridan College Ceramics Programme. After a long hiatus I returned to clay when I joined the guild over 16 years ago. I am an instructor at the Guild but continue to be a student by participating in workshops and conferences. I have had pieces accepted into our Guild's and Hamilton Potters' Guild's Biennial juried exhibitions. The patterns and forms of nature inspire me and influence the surfaces and forms of my mostly functional pieces."

JANE GARCIA is one of the artists participating in our OnLine Fall Sale on November 21st & 22nd "I’ve included work from 2 different series in this year’s show-sale. The first series (called Un Soupçon de Steampunk) is based on a genre which combines Victoriana with unexpected elements of neo-industrialism. Several pieces from this series have been exhibited at the King Street Gallery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Robert Langen Gallery in Waterloo, and the Carnegie Gallery in D...undas. The second series (called Heroes) is a collection of reimagined military canteens, 6 of which are on display At the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery in Waterloo, and 5 others that are part of the travelling exhibition Fusion Fireworks 2019. I have been an artist all my life, graduating from Humber College Communications and Graphic Design, and enjoying a long and successful career as a commercial designer, illustrator and creative director. In my spare time over the years, I took night school clay classes in hand building and raku, and joined the Mississauga Potter’s Guild in 2015." Photo from "Heroes" collection.

We are pleased to include work by Guild member FRIEDA PEREIRA in our online fall Sale, starting at 10 am. on November 21st. Read her bio.... I am an Ontario based Ceramic Artist and a graduate from Sheridan College, 2013. This formal training has rekindled my passion for working with clay. My work is inspired by elements of nature. Inspiration for forms, textures and concepts come from my childhood experiences in Uganda. My passion for working with clay gives me pleasure in... making functional ware for everyday use and art work to engage the viewers and owners. Post Sheridan, my work has been exhibited through many juried exhibitions and shows at: The Gardiner Museum; Ontario Crafts Council; Design Republic; Sheridan Student Exhibitions; Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition; Hamilton Potters Biennials, Christmas and Spring Shows; Mississauga Potters Biennial and Christmas Shows; Toronto Potters Biennial and Christmas Shows. Through these exhibitions and shows I have received awards, one of which was the Hamilton Potters Guild Biennial 2018 for ‘Reflective Works’ The Carnegie Gallery Award, which resulted in a Solo Exhibition at the Gallery in 2019. In an effort to expand my knowledge and skill, I attend conferences, participate in mentorships and workshops locally and internationally. Through my commitment to engage in the community I live in and as a long member of the Mississauga Potters’ Guild, I volunteer my time, having served on the Executive, planning workshops, meetings, sales and exhibitions and mentorship. During a short stay in Mumbai, India, I volunteered my time at the ceramic studio at the School for Blind Boys, an experience I found very humbling and rewarding.

Be sure to look for MILI ROY's original creations in our November 21-22 Fall Sale. Read her bio.... "I was first introduced to pottery decades ago while in high school and it's been an enduring passion ever since. After earning a BSc(Med) followed by an MD degree at the University of Manitoba, I trained in ophthalmic surgery at McGill University in Montreal to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. With little time to pursue my passion outside the home,... thanks to a supportive partner I was fortunate to start a home-based pottery studio where I embarked on my journey of exploration of ceramics years ago . Especially with being largely self taught I've truly valued being an intermittent member since 2013 of the Mississauga Potters Guild, a warm and welcoming community of talented artists. I've learned so much from incredible Guild workshops such as the Raku workshop, and enjoyed participating in exhibitions such as Chronos at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre in 2013 and the annual Guild sales. Living and working near the shores of Lake Ontario I am inspired by natural organic forms in my work which are often finished with weathered wood and found objects harvested from the lake. All proceeds from sales of any of my pottery are directed to charitable causes. Pottery provides a perfect meditation of expression, creativity, and an opportunity to reflect." See more

Helia Safaee is one of the artists participating in our OnLine Sale starting Saturday, November 21st at 10 a.m. Read Helia's Bio...."Doing pottery in my spare time has brought me many hours of tranquility over the years. As I joined local studios in different cities where I lived and visited, I also took inspiration from my surroundings. The majority of work seen here are from my time in Northern California, spent in a studio nestled between oak trees. Other pieces I enjoy making include small jars and functional ware with etched designs."
