Mississauga Ramblers 02.06.2021

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to all of the members that were able to come onto the first ever Virtual AGM conducted by the Mississauga Ramblers' Executive Body. It was definitely a very different experience, yet in these uncertain times the Ramblers showed again just how much of a family we are. A large portion of our membership took the time out to make the AGM a resounding success. The quorum was achieved, allowing for motions and voting be conducted virtually.... At this time, we wish to thank the outgoing Executive members from 2020. Their efforts, especially in a COVID hit season, was incredible in ensuring that not only did the Ramblers get the opportunity to still play games but also that everything behind the scenes was kept in absolute tip top shape. They are but volunteers yet the passion and hours they have committed (and will continue to, even outside of a prescribed role) is nothing short of exceptional. Ramblers 2021 Executive Body President - Anis Adam replacing Fayaz Jamkhandi Vice President - Roy Supaul re-elected Treasurer - Vin Jain replacing Roy Singh Secretary - Ashish Dubey re-elected Public Relations Officer - Haaris Kirmani re-elected Club Captain - Rajbir Dhillon replacing Anis Adam Junior Coordinator - Rajesh Veetil replacing Parvez Daruwalla Social Director - Surinder Puri re-elected Congratulations to all of the newly elected Executive Body! This year promises to be another uncertain one but all Mississauga Ramblers Members can rest assured that they are being ably represented at the top by these elected members. For any and all questions don't hesitate to contact Haaris Kirmani, Public Relations Officer.

U12 boys notch up their second successive victory against Cardinal Cricket Academy! Chasing 126 for victory, they were reeling at 16/3 but the Rajesh brothers Aditya and Rithvik had other plans. The brothers took the score to 104 when Aditya got out for 38. However, Rithvik (25*)*took responsibility and made sure the enormous effort did not go in vain. The game was a thriller with 2 needed off the last ball, and Rithvik sliced the ball over point to carry Ramblers to an ama...zing 5 wicket victory. Well done boys, keep up the amazing work!

There is nothing more heartening than a wonderful performance from our juniors. Aditya Rajesh was unbeaten and scored his maiden fifty - 77 no studded with many boundaries and a few sixes. He also took a wicket - bowled which broke the stump. Well done Aditya!!!!. Many more such performances to come from the young man, keep it up!

Ontario U 18 Regional Championship tournament just concluded this last Thursday at King city, ON. Jash Shah had himself an excellent tournament, scoring 279 runs with an average of 93, including one century and two fifties as well. He ends the tournament as the highest run scorer. Combine that performance with his always reliable keeping, capped off with some fabulous catches and stumpings and Jash has had a tournament to remember.... Alongside Jash, Ethan Gibson also had a great tournament as he ends it with the third highest run total comprising of a brilliant 104 as well. The Mississauga Ramblers are incredibly proud of both of these juniors putting in the work to push their games forward and we see big things on the horizon for both of them. Keep up the amazing work boys!

To our family of Mississauga Ramblers Membership, First of all, the entire executive body would like to wish everyone good health and sincerely hope that everyone is doing well and keeping safe in these challenging times. As of now, we have still not heard anything concrete from the league regarding the plans for the season. The governing cricketing bodies of Canada, both provincial and federal, are at work to come out with frameworks that may allow for resumption of activiti...es. However, until that time we must continue to patiently wait. The Cricket Ontario safety guidelines are available below for members to understand what resumption of play will be like from a safety standpoint. https://cricketcouncilofontario.ca//Cricket-Ontario-Guidel Most importantly, apart from guidelines and resumption, the safety and comfort of the entire membership comes first. We know that these are times where everyone must not only worry about their own health but that of their family and friends as well. To that end, we want to be able to gauge the commitment of players wanting to play this season. In the TeamApp Survey, please indicate your willingness to play league cricket this season. Furthermore, there will be an upcoming town hall held virtually to provide further updates while also giving an opportunity for the membership to ask any questions they may have themselves. Stay tuned for further details. Take care and thank you for your continued patience! PS: Please note that the Iceland Cricket Ground remains closed at this time for ALL ACTIVITIES including anything related to the nets. The parking lot has been cordoned off and we are not allowed to use the facilities.

** 2020 Season Update ** First and foremost, we hope that you all are keeping safe and well in these trying times and practicing social distancing diligently as... we all respond to the new reality. From season planning perspective, we are closely monitoring the government's strategy and response to COVID. We are hopeful for at least a partial season however our hope is subject to many many factors most of which are out of our control such as Govt's response and protocols including emergency, public gatherings, city permits etc. That said, on our end we continue the planning and scheduling work so that we are prepared to embrace the rapidly evolving situation, should it change for the better. Stay safe and well and let us continue to do our best to keep everyone around us safe as well

We know that it is tough to go without cricket as we are just as crazy about it as you are. However, community comes first and as the situation around COVID-19 continues to evolve we wanted to remind everybody to continue to self-isolate and that you are in our thoughts at all times. There is positivity to be taken in even the most trying of times and this is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to slow their pace of life and take the time to reconnect with the people close...st to you. Self-Isolation does not have to mean disconnection from the world and that is especially true with the extended family of the Mississauga Ramblers. On behalf of the President and Executive Body of the Mississauga Ramblers, we want to extend our best wishes to everybody and their families and that this too shall pass. Keep happy, keep healthy and we look forward to having more time and cricket together in the near future!
