Whose Timelines? But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, You are my God. My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me. Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me for Your mercies’ sake. Psalms 31: 14 - 16 Resting in the Lord when you want something to happen very badly, and especially when there’s no evidence that it will, is very difficult to say the least. Waiting is hard, but it’s even harder when you don’...t know exactly what you’re waiting for. How many times have we felt God say yes to us in the past, but now all the signs point to NO? As Christians, we know that the desires that God plants in our hearts have to be watered by faith and patience. Yet, we often allow our wells to dry up. We haven’t taken the time to ensure that our supply of faith is fortified daily, particularly when it’s the eleventh hour and all the evidence is pointing to a conflicting outcome. The solution is to not let our weaknesses and doubts get the better of us. Don’t invest your emotions and energy solely in the outcome, as you spend all your time asking God when. Use the time to properly seek wisdom and understanding. If God said that you’re on the right track, even though He did not mention how long it was going to take, rest assured that it will come to pass. Invest your time in seeking to remain in the Lord’s will and doing what He asks you to do. Take the focus away from yourself by praying for someone else or their situation, and keep your mind on God and not the timelines. If God said it, believe it.

Lift Your Head! But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. Psalms 3:3 There is a lot going on. No matter the cause, despair and discouragement can easily take over your life until everyday interactions become a struggle, and putting one foot in front of the other becomes more work than you feel you can do. When we allow our thoughts to be persistently negative and obsess on the things that are not going right around us, we can become s...tuck and so used to being down and depressed that it takes a great effort to bring us out of it. Please remember, the Lord has made provisions for times like these, and He asks us to give our pain, frustration, and the things we just can’t figure out only to Him. We’re not alone in our battle with our emotions. Jesus promised that we can experience the fullness of His Joy, despite our circumstances. We can’t lose sight of these assurances, as there will always be situations that have the potential to derail our happiness. He is our shield from the many attacks of negativity that the enemy fills our minds with. We can glory in the Lord’s promise that trouble doesn’t last and there will be joy in the morning. We also know that the trials we go through are for our good and for His glory. The Lord will lift our heads to look upward to where our help comes from, and not fixate on the things we can’t control.

You Are Blessed Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. Deuteronomy 28: 3 - 6 It’s a fact. Life is often hard and difficult. When things get rough, and before ...we start to complain, let’s remember how blessed we really are. You are too blessed to claim defeat, no matter how hard the devil tries or how many times you fall. Just look around you. Do you see how blessed you are? Isn't it a wonder how good God is? His provision for you is everywhere you look -- in small miracles and large ones. Even before we ask, He answers, and the cattle on a thousand hills are His. So, when you get knocked down and trouble comes your way, get right back up because you're blessed like that. When the rest of the world is scrambling around to keep up with the Joneses, your prosperity is assured as a child of Godbecause you're blessed like that. When the pain attacks your very soul, you know that joy will come in the morning no matter how dark it may seem now because you're blessed like that. When you lay your dreams and goals before the Lord, you realize your success is assured, because you're blessed like that! Let us pray that our lives will be a blessing to others.

Recognize the Truth The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. For Your name’s sake, O LORD, Pardon my iniquity, for it is great. Psalms 25:9 - 11 You are not free nor ever will be unless you acknowledge the thoughts and beliefs that actually keep you in bondage. If we don’t learn our lessons or seek wisdom and apply it, we’ll make the same mistake over ...and over again, therefore living a lie and telling ourselves it’s the best we can do. Life is not supposed to be lived this way. The truth has been presented to us over and over again. We have to choose to believe it. We will never overcome our fears or realize the Lord’s vision unless we recognize the truth. Our minds are steeped in falsehood, yet we think we know so much. We argue, fight, and demand our rights to express our opinions and our feelings when what we’re really doing is perpetuating the lies. This is not the life God intended for us. Yet we protect our mental strongholds against the Spirit’s influence and against anyone who dared to tell us the real truth about ourselves. We have no love, only indifference for one another, and resentment and anger are our best friend. We must learn to divest ourselves of the negative perspectives, the backbiting and game playing, all because we think what we’re seeing and feeling is the truth. However, the journey back to truth must begin for each one of us today, or we’re in danger of being completely taken over by falsehood. We need to know the Lord. Only in relationship with Him will we understand the truth, live the truth and share the truth with others.

Embracing Our Circumstances Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalms 37:4 Are you content with your present circumstances? Right now, there may be a few of us who will say yes, and definitely many of us who will say no. And from what we see happening around the world, it looks like there are very few people who are happy with their current situation. ... So what does it mean to embrace your circumstances? We know the statement implies that we shouldn't doubt, complain or be negative. God has a plan and if we're walking with Him than our footsteps are ordered and we are where we should be right now. However, I have seen the very simple desire for progress used against many an individual who yearned for more or dared to dream. No matter the state of our world, there is nothing at all wrong with having ambition or desiring something different. If God has placed a dream in your heart then go for it. You will know the difference between God's desires for you and your own as your relationship with Him grows. Being content with our circumstances doesn’t mean that we have to settle, or be poverty minded. There are riches of all kinds around us. Despite your circumstances, dare to dream, to aim higher, to think outside the box. Being thankful to God for our life right now does not mean it will remain the way it is. We should not be afraid to learn, expect more or to take risks. God purposely gives us these dreams and desires so we don't stay in the same place, but grow in grace with Him. Remember, there is no growth in remaining stagnant and unfruitful.

For Sure He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure. Isaiah 33:6 The one thing we know for sure is that life is full of uncertainty. Suffering, problems, and bad news are paramount, and we often worry about what unmanageable events are waiting for us around the corner. We know that unforeseen issues we can’t control are bound to happen. We just don’t exactly know what th...ey will be or when they will occur. Many of us try to even the odds by becoming obsessive and overprotective of the things we feel we can control: our weight, finances, and our relationships. We soon realize that this will not solve the problem of uncertainty, but only add more stress and strain and rob us of peace. Thankfully, the one real for sure in this life, is that God loves us, even when we don’t make Him our primary focus. He patiently waits and calls us to His side to take away our heavy burdens. He is not just God, but our God. Even when we have no idea how we’ll make it through or whether we’ll succeed, He has a plan. You can be sure of Him today.

Faith in Action Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5, 6 - 8 Life’s uncertainties and uncontrollable twists and turns can frustrate even the most sure-footed and trusting Christian. We may pride ourselves on our faith and how much we know abou...t doctrine or how many verses we can recite. Yet, like it or not, it works the same for all. If we fail to put our faith into action, we will get swept away by the negative tide and succumb to fear, just like everyone else. Whether we want to or not, the Lord expects us to act to get our heads out of the sand and stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Yes, life is difficult, we may not have all that we want, or it may seem like everyone else is getting what we want, but let's focus on what we do have and count our blessings. The Lord has never forsaken us, nor does He intend to. He may seem silent right now or may appear to be busy blessing someone else. However, do not forget that He knows your name and has your future planned out. Apply your faith! We simply need to get on the same page. We may not like the uncertainty of blind trust and active faith, and may look at it like jumping out of a plane without a parachute. However, we are placing our faith in God, because we have knowledge of Him. The Lord wouldn’t force us to trust and does not ask allegiance of those who don’t know Him. He says, my sheep hear my voice. Now is the time to do what the Lord asks and cast all our cares on Him, no matter how scary it may feel.

Behold! And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you. Genesis 9:9 Have you ever considered what the word behold means? In various places in the bible, when a speaker wanted to bring attention to something that required special notice, he would say, behold. In essence, behold is a word that demonstrates that what comes next is profoundly important and not to be taken lightly. In the scriptures, the Lord often used the word to indicate ...look, watch out, pay special attention, take note and beware, because the proclamation that followed was important to our spiritual lives. Today’s text specifies that God wants us to acknowledge that He has established a covenant with us that ensures providence, not only for ourselves, but also our families for generations to come. God's word is absolute truth and confirms promises that would be fulfilled. Today, consider the areas of your life where God may want you to stop and behold. There may be something He is trying to show you, something very important He may want to say, or an area where He may be encouraging you to beware. Take the time now to behold the Lord by spending some quality time in His presence. Open the word to discover the many promises that the Lord does not want us to take lightly. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
