Anyone who has been in a classroom knows: this is NOT what it looks like. This is not what it will look like. Classes have 22-30 students, not 6 or 7. One or two classrooms in a school might have a sink. Some schools have no classrooms with sinks. Some schools only have one set of bathrooms. ... Parents’ worries are mounting, and so are teachers’. This statement from the BCTF explains more.

As we draw nearer to September, we are still left with so many questions about how things will look in our schools. As of now, the BCTF has rejected the plan outlined by the BC Ministry of Education. The plan is extremely vague. It goes against social distancing protocols outlined by Dr. Henry. Masks are not mandatory. There’s no time allotted for teacher training in September. I’ve already started getting requests for tutoring for the upcoming school year. If you’re unsur...e about having your child in the classroom, there are options available to you. However, without an available instructor, online school can be near impossible. I’m here to help, either in one-on-one physically distanced meetings, small group settings, or personalized Zoom classes. Send me a message and we can talk more about the options available to you and your family. Stay safe, and enjoy the rest of your summer! Miss Lindsay

If you feel like you or your children might need some assistance with their education this coming semester, please reach out and we can discuss the different ways I am able to ...help. How are we all feeling about sending students back to school part-time in June? In theory, it’s fairly reasonable for families with no health issues. In practice, who knows! I’ve taught in classrooms before, and I don’t see how anyone could possibly keep the younger kids (K-2) physically distanced from each other. Not to mention keeping them from licking the playground, or putting rocks in their mouth... What are your thoughts? Is it enough? Too much? Do you feel safe?... If you’re feeling unsure, but want to make sure your student is getting the curriculum they need to successfully move forward, please contact me and we can discuss your options!
