Tonight would have been the end of, 4 Days in the Wild, competitors know it as Championship Sunday. This year is different though, this year we spent the time reminiscing of memories past, remembering the history of Teepee Creek Stampede, a one of a kind event that brings people together from far & wide. There are many turning points for Teepee Creek Stampede in history, to name a few would include; 1917 - The First Picnic & Sports Day 1953 - First Teepee Creek Terror ...1969 - TP became a 3 day rodeo 1974 - Record attendance 2007 - TP became a CPRA Pro Rodeo 2009 - The first Miss Teepee Creek Stampede was crowned 2010 - TP was the first to introduce the use of Videoboards in the Peace Country 2016 - 100Th Annual Teepee Creek Stampede 2020 - The year the world stood still as to give us a moment to recoup, catch our breathe & spend some extra time with our families. Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path... It’s hard to believe that a year ago, I was celebrating my first day as Miss Teepee Creek Stampede. This year as flown by so quickly, and while there has been ups and downs, it has been an incredible experience. From the Battle River Rodeo, to the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede, to every rodeo and community event in between, I have travelled far and wide to share my love of rodeo and the western way of life. Throughout the past year, I’ve grown immensely as a person, an...d most importantly, as a queen. I am so immensely grateful for this opportunity, and to every sponsor and individual along the way that has made it possible for me to represent the Teepee Creek Stampede with pride. While I would normally be congratulating our new queen this year, I won’t be giving up my crown just yet. We will all persevere through the circumstances we are in, and come out stronger than before. This next year will be the biggest year for rodeo yet, just you wait. Onto our next adventure. - Megan Pettyjohn, Miss Teepee Creek Stampede 2019-2020
