I have struggled and still struggle with anxiety, sometimes being a lash artist makes it worse. I juts want you guys to feel you are NOT alone. - Anxiety does not discriminate. It can be your lash artist who is too stressed out taking clients because she doesn’t believe she’s good enough. It can be the lash artist who seems to have it all. But deep inside does not, and still has that voice inside her head that says she’s not good enough. - It can be the lash artist that takes 6-8 clients per day trying to please all her clients , but in the end doesn’t take care of herself emotionally, and feels depressed and anxious. It can be the happy, funny, loveable person. It can be the outspoken person or the shy person in the corner. It can be the successful career driven person. It can be those who suffered, those with trauma or those who have seen too much. It can be the person who openly speaks about it or the person who you would never guess who deals with it in silence. Anxiety looks different on everyone. It manifests and rears it’s ugly head in different ways for different people. It’s triggers are different and could seem trivial to some. What gives one lash artist anxiety may seem strange to the next but it doesn’t mean that it’s not valid. Our feelings are valid and real no matter how or why they appear. And if you don’t understand anxiety or why someone feels the way they feel just be kind and try not to judge that’s all you need to do. And if these feelings are your own - You’re not alone. EDUCATIONAL THURSDAY= TWO PART POST- second part in comments. Rant is about to happen and maybe some swearing. So if that offends you- scroll along PHOTO IS NOT MY CLIENT. My heart truly hurts when I see that educators in the lash industry are not only teaching this skill, but lashing artists with work like THIS. It actually makes me so f*cking angry and shakes me tmore then I like to admit. Do you know what you are looking at? ... That my friends is huge bases, extensions applied right to the skin, and stuck together. Yet she apparently taught this artist shown in this photo how to lash. I had to point this out to this beautiful girl when she was paying for product and I said do you know you have lashes stuck to your skin? And she replied no?... I then asked, May I take a photo to show you? Which she said yes. Her face showed it all. She was unaware of the work on her eyes. Which is when she told me my educator lashes me. This is far more common then you know. And and I feel with the pandemic, desperation kicks in and people are self teaching themselves this profession, watching YouTube, taking an online course etc , and or teaching it to make a quick buck. It’s so sad and this is why I am as hard as I am on my students. You will never pass my courses unless I will let you lash my own eyes. Because at the end of the day, we get ONE set of eyes in this life and eye infections, allergies and or hair loss is a very real thing. Why do I care? Because I invest my heart and soul into this career and have invested much more than just learning this skill, but dedicating my time to making it better day by day with small changes and or discoveries. ***I don’t just lash clients. I lash front liners, doctors, nurses, dentists, mothers, grandmothers, friends, family, bankers, retired entrepreneurs, small business owners... and the list goes on. . ONE fuck up on their eyes, could change those lives forever. Because it is THEIR EYES... not mine. So to all the lash artists who fall under this category, smarten up...buck up and get the training you need to be the best and most ethical lash artist in your community. Part 2 in comments
