Hello everyone! We are taking orders for a Mister Mochi - VARIETY PACK: four delicious mochi flavours in one box!!! - ube with macapuno/langka - matcha - black sesame... - ...and our newest flavour: bibingka (original mochi topped with coconut, cheese and salted egg) Pick-up location: Marpole (Vancouver, BC) Pick-up schedule: Friday, October 9: 4pm onwards Saturday, October 10: 11-1pm Sunday, October 11: 11-1pm We share the same pick-up location as Love, Sandra (who bakes the most delicious cheese and ube ensaymadas and chicken/beef/pork empanadas). Mister Mochi's newest flavour is an ode to our family's Filipino heritage: Ube Mochi topped with Macapuno and Langka. Ube is a purple yam originally from the Philippines. It is similar to purple sweet potato but has a more mellow taste and is sweeter and that's why it's perfect for desserts. Combined with mochi, it's this rich, delicious, sweet dessert/snack that is very close to the taste of kakanin (rice cake) but with a unique chewy texture. And to make it even more indul...gent, the ube mochi is topped with langka (jackfruit) bits and macapuno (sweetened gelatinous coconut strings that have firm, chewy texture and a pleasantly nutty taste to it). If you're craving for kakanin with a twist, this is the perfect snack/dessert/meryenda for you!
