Hey again! As promised, here is a list of the new rules and safety precautions that have been implemented for this summer:) Kids who can swim independently (confident in deep water, do not require physical assistance) can participate in lessons as per usual. The instructor (me) will be outside the pool for the majority of the lessons and a safe distance will be kept. When I do occasionally go in the pool (demonstrations, etc), I will be wearing a full face shield.... Patio furniture will not be provided so please bring your favourite lawn chair instead! We are asking families that only ONE parent/guardian attend, per lesson. You also have the option of dropping your kids off and returning when their lesson(s) are over. ALL pool equipment will be sanitized regularly. Use of the pool change house is discouraged. If possible, bring a spare towel to be used for the car ride home. Please bring payment on the first day of lessons (Monday) and place it in a labelled ziploc bag, if possible. If you have any questions, please let me know!

Hello everyone! I know many activities are up in the air right now due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19. After taking lots of time to develop detailed safety measures and implement new rules, it has been decided that lessons at Mitchell Swim Academy WILL run this summer! However, in order to keep EVERYONE safe, lessons may not be available to every child. In a nutshell, any child who can swim independently, confidently, and who does NOT require physical assistance to st...ay afloat (typically levels 5+) will absolutely be able to participate in lessons. In this case, lessons will be fun and effective WHILE STILL keeping a safe distance. When it comes to swimmers who need an instructor in the pool with them, some may be able to participate, while others may not. This decision depends upon the child’s comfort level and need for physical assistance in the water (feet can’t touch bottom in shallow end, clings to instructor). If you are uncertain of your child’s eligibility, we can discuss it on an individual basis. Anytime I am in the pool with a child, I will wear a protective face shield. Also, I will be the only instructor offering lessons this season. There are several other precautions we will take to ensure your safety and in the coming days I will make an additional post to outline the ways in which we can all help each other stay safe and healthy. I will be messaging everyone who is currently booked to discuss your eligibility for lessons. MITCHELL SWIM ACADEMY SUMMER 2020 Hey everyone! We hope you all had a great year and we’re excited to see you all again this coming summer. We are aware that many of you may be curious as to how things will function this summer, whilst the COVID-19 Pandemic is still a concern. As of right now, there’s no way of knowing what rules will be in place when July comes but we are optimistic and hoping that lessons will be able to run! We are currently considering a large variety of... options that would allow us to teach and at the same time, keep everyone involved 100% safe. Know that safety is our absolute number 1 priority throughout this time. We are encouraging everyone to book now and if it turns out that lessons aren’t able to run, you are free to cancel them at no cost.
