It gives me the absolute greatest pleasure to announce that the City of Cote Saint-Luc has obtained a grant in the amount of just over $3.9 Million from the Federal and Provincial governments (approx $1.97M each) for the refurbishment of Kirwan Park in District 5. Add to this the $2.5M Council committed to in the City's capital budget, this total $6.4M will create a true destination park for all in to enjoy in the western part of the City. This project is as close to my heart... and as close to my constituents as it gets. The renovation of Kirwan was not only a campaign promise of mine but has been a collaborative effort of City staff, the residents and politicians that will benefit the entire community for decades to come. I have been working tirelessly on this project with an incredibly dedicated team for the last 3 years. The announcement today, made with MP Anthony Housefather, Mitchell Brownstein, Mayor/ Maire - Côte Saint-Luc, David Birnbaum MNA-député D’Arcy McGee will now get the ball rolling with the goal being shovels in the ground in late summer and project completion before the end of next year. I'd like to take a moment as well to thank Sonny Moroz from the MP's office, Associate City Manager Tanya Abramovitch as well as Marianne Zalzal from Engineering who has kindly postponed her retirement to see the Kirwan Project through to the end. Thank you all for your collaboration and for the work of staff in all City departments who made this possible, it's a true testament to your persistence and teamwork.

After the success of my March District Meeting, I've decided to have monthly hour-long Q&A sessions to make sure all my constituents' questions get the answers they deserve. Please join me for my first District 5 pop-up Q&A Town Hall on Thursday April 15th at 7:30pm. Zoom link to be added later this week. Hope to see you there!

So just to let everyone know, we're giving this new system a try at Parkhaven Pool beginning today. We'll be admitting residents at 2-hour intervals (10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm) for a 1.5-hour block of time at the pool. The 30-minute buffer between entry times will used to clean and sanitize. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our first attempt at creating a system for Parkhaven but these are new and unique circumstances and we are learning together and doing our best. Pl...ease remember to be patient and kind with our staff as we work through these "growing pains". For those who suggested an online registration of some kind, this is being looked into but hopefully never needed if this new system works. We're trying to stay two steps ahead and anticipate future adjustments to the re-openings of City facilities. We're trusting in all CSLers to continue respecting physical distancing at the pool and continue to support and look out for one another during this pandemic. Enjoy the start of summer!

Many parks in the city will be re-opening this weekend. Please enjoy them in a responsible way. Public health measures for physical distancing still apply and for hand cleanliness. Therefore please bring hand sanitizer with you for both yourself and your kids. Please note as well that for sanitary reasons, the water fountains will NOT be open so bring water bottles with you! This last measure will be re-evaluated in the coming days and weeks.
