Coffee corner! I wanted to try another way of making a counter/cabinet. I like how this turned out. Top is cedar coated in epoxy, the rest is pine.

Migwan - the Algonquin word for feather. Design de Plume is an Indigenous owned graphic design company located in Sudbury, ON. Chi-miigwetch for the support! Please feel free to contact me for custom doors, or anything! Even if it's just an idea you want to explore and talk about for a couple of months, I'd be happy to help you make it a reality.

A table done for the new Drumbeat Radio station in Kebaowek First Nation. Miigwetch for the trust and opportunity to work with you. It is very much appreciated Table top is wormy maple, legs are painted poplar. The logo was hand routed and filled with colored epoxy. The lightening effect is called Lichtenburg fractal burning. Fun stuff!

Ladies only post! Anybody looking for natural, age old remedies for womanly issues? Menstrual cycle, cysts, fertility, postpartum, libido and more. I would recommend speaking with Nal Manan at Symmetry Hair and Massage Studio (tags in the comments). She's very knowledgable about this indigenous practise of vaginal steaming, also know as Yoni Steaming. I'm also open to conversations surrounding indigenous practises that are similar to one another around the world. I think it's fascinating how we take care of ourselves with what we had immediately available. @ Temiscaming, Quebec

Sweetgrass, Cedar and Sage River table. Ah, so much to say about this table!!! It caused me a bit of stress because when I try new things, I like to start on expert mode haha. This table is for my community's Health and Wellness department. I couldn't resist incorporating our sacred medicines in it with the exception of tobacco (just couldn't make it work). Cedar- sooo many uses! One is for protection. Used to cleanse a new home, asking uninvited forces to leave and keep aw...ay. Sage- When burned it releases negative ions which has been linked to putting people in a positive mood. Also scientifically proven to rid 94% of air born bacteria. It basically disinfects the air. We use this to cleanse ourselves of negative energy. Sweetgrass- we use this to attract the positive and promote healing. It also represents Mother Earth and our connection to the land. The 3 strands in her braided hair represent peace, love, harmony, or mind, body, spirit.

I haven't posted in a very long time, I know. After the Trickster gig I spent a couple of weeks purging and re-organizing my work space to accomodate winter, then a couple weeks dealing with grief, blah, then a couple weeks over thinking my next projects lol. But here are some simple but fun things that have lit the fire again....pretty things are coming

Its pretty amazing the amount of work and dedication this takes. Recently at work, we were peeling logs for an outdoor structure and a re-make of an interior log cabin (film industry incase you were wondering)....and man, I got a pretty good idea of how hard this work is! Kudos to this guy for doing it himself!

Another project done! Or not? A part of me really wants to incorporate an indigenous design of some sort into this, but when is too much, too much? I did think of something that could look cooler, half way though this, but things were already cut! Anyways, I really wanted to give the concrete counter top a shot, so here it is! The sealer made it darker than planned, but no big deal. The rest is pine.

Omg, I think I FINALLY figured out how to link this page with my old, personal instagram account!! Things were going to my personal FB profile lol. Heres my youngest baby, River. I made her with a lot of love

I know I haven't posted anything in a while so I feel I owe you guys an update! I've just finished my 3rd week of 4 working on the Trickster series. Man, it's been great! Long hours (9-10 not including travel), but I'm learning some pretty cool building techniques because walls and ceilings need to be removable to allow a camera in and out. I'm not allowed to post pictures publically, so dont ask lol. Anyways, I dont want to say too much about it because I dont want to brag o...r jinx myself, but I feel spoiled by not only the perks to the job, but for having 2 very kind hearted bosses and smart and awesome co-workers. As for my projects still on the go at home, lol, I had a bad reaction to some caulking and had to restart something, I'm not posting a picture of that!! So in the meantime, I'll leave you with the project I'm planning for the future.....check this out It scares the shit out of me but will definitely test me!
