If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll recognize these two. They are close friends of ours and we photograph them a lot! On this particular occasion, we asked them if we could film them for a vlog. Smith later informed us he was planning to propose, so we were obviously THRILLED to be a part of it! That was over two years ago, and in less than 30 days they are getting married! To say we are excited to be part of their day is an understatement! We say we tell st...ories, and for these two, we are so happy to not just tell their story, but be a part of it. #yxe #yxephoto #yxephotographer #yxefamilies #saskatoon #saskatoonphotographer #saskatoonfamilies #familyphotography #yxelifestyle #yxeengagement #yxewedding #saskatoonwedding

MJ&Co. Stories 14.05.2021

Life won’t always be like this. A saying that carries a lot of meaning for me (Matt). The good, the great, the sad, the challenging, all those moments are just that, moments. They come and they go. They are part of my journey. "Studio D" is now a part of the past for us. Studio D is the name of our commercial brand of services (Studio D YXE) - we named it after our studio. In The Two Twenty, the basement studios are named 'A' through 'H'. We were in 'D'. Our friend Steve T...hompson, who is the owner of Hardpressed here in Saskatoon, was chatting with us when we were doing the rebranding and suggested we used our location name in the brand name. After a bit of consideration, we fell in love with the name. We *will* keep the name, but we are saying goodbye to the space itself. It’s emotional. This place has been home for us. We were really settled in. We had a space that worked so well for doing what we do; a place where we shared so many memories with our clients. It has been good to us. It’s been good to me. Before we left, I asked Ryley to make a short walk-through video of the space. So, for one last time, we cleaned up the studio and set it up for what the space looked like when we had a client coming in for a session. I’m getting choked up just writing this. When I was starting out as a photographer, it wasn’t long before a studio was on my dream list. Looking at this studio, it is more than I ever imagined. Having the best cameras, a way to make prints, a place to share the work we create, and having a world class team to bring it all together...it’s magical. I’m sad to say goodbye, but I'm looking forward to making new memories, experiences, and growing our team in our new studio.

Real smiles are the best smiles. We love Paul and Lara’s wedding photos. It was cold, but winter weddings are pretty. She smiles so big when he wraps his arms around her. We love having fun on wedding days with our couples. When couples are looking to hire us, we ask them about what they want and hope for on their wedding day. Most couples say they love the candid natural looking photos. Why? Because it doesn’t feel fake or posed. We want everyone who gets in front of our cam...eras to get photographs that make them say that is so us! Those are the kinds of photographs you’ll love now and in 20+ years. What kinds of photos are your favourites? #saskatoon #yxe #saskeverafter #winterwedding #saskatoonphotographer

MJ&Co. Stories 20.12.2020

This lady had her last day on the MJ&Co. team yesterday. There were a few emotions in the studio. Some big laughs and some tears. This is Thalia. She’s been part of our team since mid 2018. We are so sad to see her go. She brought a warmth and kindness wherever she went. She works hard, she is attentive to detail, and was picky (which if you know me, I appreciate so much). I was able to be part of some special moments in her life, and she has become a big part of ours. She p...hotographed my family multiple times, and I was able to capture her husband surprise her with a ring last year and capture her wedding day. We’ve shared a lot of memories together. Our team at the studio is more like family, and even though Thalia is @c.ramage cousin, I’ve enjoyed sharing life with such a wonderful human. So why is she leaving??? Well, she’s been a talented photographer for years, which is why we loved having her. She made the decision to go full time on her own as a photographer. We are very excited for her. I was about the same age as Thalia when I left my job working for a photographer to go solo. It was exciting! We wish you the best in your business, and in this huge step! Always remember - you provide your clients something of tremendous value, people are lucky to hire you. You can congratulate her on her Instagram and support her by giving her a follow at @thaliamaephotography #yxephotographer #saskatoonphotographer #thetwotwenty #imnotcryingyourecrying

Jenna and Jesse had us film their wedding. They had a few words to share about the experience. It never gets old hearing that people love what we make for them. Fills our hearts.

Well, our team has grown a little this month! Meet Tig! He’s the newest addition to our team! Our productivity is terrible today, but we are pretty excited to have a little buddy around the studio. He’s kinda cute hey?... #yxe #saskatoon #yxephotographer #saskatoonphotographer
