Our family history is a gift. It may not be glamorous (we can’t all be descended from royalty), in fact there may be difficult things in the past that might make one think they should be ashamed or that they should try to ‘rewrite’ their history to hide the actions of others. It is important to remember that an individual is not responsible for the choices and actions of their ancestors. Researching one’s history is an opportunity to learn and grow and to develop your story. Everyone has a story different stories make life exciting even if your think your story is boring. What is one of your favourite parts of your story?

How does it feel to be living history? The COVID-19 virus has created an epoch unlike no other that many of the earth's inhabitants have ever experienced. While most of what is happening during this pandemic could be considered a negative, there are still opportunities for positivity. Perhaps you are not a journal writer or you may be an avid historian of your life. Why not take a few moments and record your feelings and experiences? Your words and feelings will be an invaluable gift to your posterity.
