The Brampton Newcomer Day on August 14th, 2019 was a huge success! Let me show you the mosaic of Brampton's vibrant newcomer community that I captured through my lens. First and foremost I would like to thank Neelam Advani for giving me the opportunity to volunteer at the event. I am grateful to the #newcomermeetingplace team Neelam, Wanzi and Claire for the encouragement they shown me every time. Thanks are also due to Sonika and team Brampton Multicultural Centre (BMC) for ...the effort they put in creating newcomer and youth friendly welcoming spaces. RBC Newcomer Meeting Place and BMC together hosted Brampton Newcomer Day at Brampton YMCA To see non profit, corporate sector and the city working together to support our diverse communities gives me hope. The event was wonderful, there were many age appropriate activities for everyone; a play area, face painting, dances, music, settlement and employment support, speed mentoring and more. Honorable Mayor, Patrick Brown spoke to the strengths of Brampton "Diversity is our strength!"
