Perfect day in the woods!

The lake March 24th!

Caught this early riser on the trail camera south of the Silver Birch Resort... is this a sign of spring just around the corner?... or perhaps a sign that it's been a long, cold winter?

7:30 am April 30th

At noon today the only open water is where the aerator had been and along the shoreline. By 8:50 pm the south west corner had opened up. This is the first time I have ever seen the ice leave the lake. We can hear the frogs over the wind. Spring is really here!

April 29: It is 21 and extremely windy out and the lake is still frozen except for a small hole in the ice by the shore. A group of small minnows swam past. I was not fast enough to get a picture of them, but be assured there is life in our lake! Looking forward to the 2018 summer at Moose.
