We’ve partnered with @torontofc and @bpcmls to launch UNITE an initiative to raise funds during TFC’s playoff run to provide youth equitable access to sport in Toronto. What a year it has been, both on and off the field. These programs and partnerships are crucial as we collectively strive to address issues relating to diversity, equity and inclusion - Toronto FC General Manager Ali Curtis. You can support the new UNITE fundraising initiative in two ways: by participa...ting in 50|50 throughout the playoffs from anywhere in Ontario or by purchasing items from Toronto FC’s exclusive Adidas UNITE Capsule Collection available at @realsportsapparel! Due to a major gap in social supports, there are an estimated 35,000 homeless youth in Canada, of which nearly 58% have been involved with the child welfare system. StepStones For Youth was founded in 2004 in response to the critical need for preventative intervention programs for vulnerable young people. @stepstonesfy offers programs for youth aged 6-24 who come from unstable, low income homes and have been in contact with child protection, and/or legal systems. StepStones ...is committed to providing programming for youth in care, as well as for those transitioning out of care. This year, the world changed. So did StepStones For Youth. Black Lives Matter. We made a commitment to use our voice to speak up on important social issues. September 19th was the first Saturday after @mlselaunchpad re-opened. We used that afternoon to speak to their members in person about anti-Black racism. To share experiences and provide a message of solidarity. Thank you to the coaches who led the conversation, shared their perspective, and continue to be role models for youth in this community. To John Wiggins from the @rap...tors organization for an inspiring message of hope. To @icondigitalpro for making sure the message is clear when you walk into MLSE LaunchPad. The conversation will continue. Tomorrow Is Built Today. #MoreThanAGym | #BLM See more

This summer has been especially challenging for youth in our community, but our goal to improve the lives of youth through sport has remained the same. In July we were able to partner with @cityofto to bring back community sport to youth in our city. With City staff and coaches from @mlselaunchpad, we were able to offer free programs at nearly 100 locations across Toronto. Our goal was to deliver programs in an accessible, safe and fun way. To connect communities, to prov...ide structure, to encourage youth to get outside, get moving and be kids. This week we’re sharing what that looked like, giving you a window into our summer and sharing the experience from the voice of our coaches. See more
