Coastal Lives 10.02.2021

Yes, in answer to your kind questions, Coastal Lives is still very much in print, and available from Nimbus Publishing, or from the author. Just msg me if you would like a signed copy and I will put a book in the mail. Thank you very much for your interest. I am glad, as never before, that I chronicled my early times with Don - and that he read it, and loved it. I was blessed to share a life with him.

In May 2011, I was half-done an Master of Arts Research and working hard on an earlier version of Coastal Lives. On May 11th, I was catapulted 20 or so feet off the back of a horse, and landed badly. In came the ambulance and took me off to the hospital. What happened next is to a small degree covered toward the ending of Coastal Lives (2014), and fully covered in Year of the Horse, published in 2016. Why am I thinking about this today? Because I rode a lovely horse last week..., as I have regularly since 2013, and today, I stacked about an eighth of a cord of wood in our basement. My back is stiff and cranky now ... and I don't care. To do nearly everything I want to physically is a blessing I never take for granted. Mobility is not necessarily a right; but it is a privilege and a joy. The photo below, when I rode for the first time after my accident, is of Winnie the wonderful, and me. And yes, that's pure joy on my face. See more
