Running isn’t always easy. Aiming to run further and faster with greater ease takes many hours. It takes a lot of dedication and persistence.... Consistency with activity, self care, recovery, sleep and nutrition. A long term approach for years ahead. Along the way you’ll reach a few highs and definitely some lows. As a result of all the work, the goals will be achieved and the memories will be about the journey. More importantly you will have grown because of it. Enjoy the journey!!!

Sometimes the weight we need to lose isn’t on our body, it’s in our mind.

MMC Fitness 28.04.2021

Our mind and thoughts are more involved in our personal well-being than we like to admit or even realize. Mental Fitness and Physical Fitness are very much one in the same. It’s up to you to make the connection rather than uphold the numbness to it and only rely on physical abilities.

Nightly self care routine complete. Trying to ward off the slight shin splint discomfort I’ve been feeling. Also to stay on track with being prepared for life, activities, adventures, mental and physical health.

A crunchy 10k this morning. Yes it’s cold out and I only saw one other person during the whole run. I was overly dressed and a bit too warm actually. ... Last year I ran indoors the whole winter, this year I braving the cold. Whether you’re inside or out, stay consistent, keep going and take another step forward. Staying active through this part of the year can really pay off in a few months when it gets nicer and warmer out. Use this time to build a base of strength and cardio endurance. If you do go outside choose the right clothing to make it more enjoyable! your choice!

Great way to end the month. It’s been taking more mental energy to get out in the cold this past month, and I know it’ll be worth the time, effort and dedication when the weather gets nicer. Today’s lesson on the run was about preserving and patience. Learning through adversity has it’s challenges and rewards. I may not always feel like getting out the door. Lots of times I’d rather do less. I’ve come to understand the reward is worth facing the challenge. It’s worth whateve...r it takes. The same principle can be applied in all areas of my life and for this I’m grateful for the Lessons on the Run. #perserverance #patience #run #mmcfitness #mwfitfam #yegfitness #garminrunning #altrarunning #winterrunning #icespikes #ultrarunning #mentalfitness #strongdads #ilovetorun

So many people wonder what they should do for a workout. How much to train or what exercises to do. How to fit exercise into their weekly schedule and have multiple excuses or self imposed barriers to stay active. ... Granted at certain times in our lives exercise and activity fall down on the priority list. When you’re ready to make change to add it to your day, then you need to be intentional about it. Love the process, the activity and how it makes you feel. Write it in your schedule so it’s a non negotiable event. Plan it out for the week or follow a plan from an expert. Share your progress. Get some support. Include friends & family in the process. Encourage others to do the same. Your health is a life long pursuit. Enjoy it and see it as a blessing. To stay accountable I’ll post mine intentions for the week. My Activity Plan this Week Running: Mon. 40min Tue. 50-50min Wed. 70-75min Fri. 60-65min Sat. 130-140min Weights: Mon. 1hr Stability Phase Wed. 1hr Stability Phase w/ Agility Drills Fri. 1hr Core/Power/Plyometrics Rowing: 2x15-20min Bike: 2x15-20min Rolling & Stretching: 5 nights Without the intention and leaving it to chance or the possible spare time in our day, it may never happen. We’ve all been there and we know how time can slip away if we let it. Live with Intention. Invest the time in YOU! YOU Matter!
