We are having lots of fun talking up a storm while playing "La course à dix". This game also reviews French sounds and challenges us to identify words with this sounds and use them in context. Lots of great discussions! You can challenge students to think of words that begin with that sound or end with that sound. You could try to identify adjectives that contain the sound. Instead of using them in a sentence, they could ask a question with the word. Lots of variables to play with in order to make it more or less challenging depending on your students! Today we played the side for review, but next time we'll try the harder side.

Updated some more games! BINGO is a game that our students love to play for PAT on Fridays and we love that we can practice listening skills and encourage French conversations, while reviewing concepts and without sharing materials!

Games, games, and more games! We've been playing lots of games to get students talking in French. Pige dans le lac was the first game we taught them. Then UNO, Bataille, and finally Qui suis-je?... Why do we love these games? 1) They get the kids talking! 2) They are fun! 3) They are free! 4) They help our students practice speaking in complete sentences. Students ask and answer in complete phrases. 5) They practice common question and sentence stems: "Est-ce que...J'ai...Je suis..." 6) They practice verbs in context! 7) They reinforce numeracy skills (number sense, addition) ....
