Trains snow plowing railway tracks. Wait to watch the clip with the passenger people waiting/standing at the train platform! It’s as if none of them have a clue up until the last second the physics of it. Most models of trains are of summer/fall scenes. Has anyone ever modeled a fully frozen winter landscape? (Other than outdoor garden scale trains running in winter).

I know this is going to seem like a broken record or repetitive, but due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, the 2021 MMRF Spring Swap Meet has been CANCELLED. We are also waiting until ~May 1, 2021 for a final Go/No Go decision on the 2021 Train Show. So please stay subscribed to our Facebook page for updates for that and any other events as information becomes available. Until then, please keep having fun in your basements expanding your model trains into every available room. After all, what else is there to do for a model train enthusiast when there is nowhere to go and no one to see. Cheers :)

Anyone want to chime in on this phenomenon? My thoughts were this, but please feel free to add other ideas: Only a locomotive could do that, if its even real. What’s bizarre is why no other wheels on the bogey spun around wearing other parts of the rails down. Locomotives have either 2 sets or 3 sets of wheels per bogey. (There are 2 bogeys per locomotive and 2 per rail car. Bogeys are also sometimes called trucks).... If a wheel was stuck on a rail car, it would not be able to spin any hole into a rail. If parked, it would just sit there because it does not have a traction motor, and if moving, the flat/worn side would occur on the wheel, not much damage to the rails. Wheels on rail cars can become flattened with extreme braking, some wheels skid and get dragged, then litteraly worn to the point one side goes physically flat shaped.

We have been advised that due to the ongoing dilemma of the COVID-19 virus pandemic, restrictive occupancy capacity limits at the Lions Senior Citizen Centre, the continued spread of the virus in our province, and eminent risk to our seniors, members and our attendees, it is necessary to ca...ncel this event for this year. Our Swap Meet Coordinator, Ric Francoeur, will be refunding vendors for their table rental deposits. We realize that some vendors and patrons will not be happy with this decision but there are too many vendors and patrons who could be compromised by any exposure to this virus. Regarding our 2021 Spring Swap Meet, a final decision has not been made on whether or not it will proceed. Discussions will take place in January 2021, and we will post a decision here in the future and communicate directly with our stake holders. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. IMPORTANT CANCELLATION NOTICE: Please note that due to the ongoing spread of the corona virus (COVID-19), it has been decided that this years Spring Swap Meet is CANCELLED. Our Swap Meet Coordinator, Ric Francoeur, has communicated the situation with our vendors and a large majority of them have given strong support in the decision to cancel the event. Part of the decision to cancel this event is also based on the fact that the Central Lions Senior Recreation Centre is a pu...blic building owned and operated by the City of Edmonton. Future Events: As of this moment, the train show and fall swap meet is still scheduled to proceed as it is still fairly far off in the future. Decisions regarding future events will be made and communicated at a later appropriate date. Any event updates/changes will be communicated directly to those stake holders of the event.
