Wait... I thought an acoustic piano is better than a digital? Digital pianos have come a long way since their early days. They use a "weighted action" and are much more affordable. The piano's "hammers" fall after a pianist touches a key using gravity (much like a grand piano). Upright pianos try to conserve space like a digital piano...but since there are more complicated mechanisms and strings that take up space the hammers must hit the strings vertically, therefore the ham...mers on an acoustic piano must be "lifted away" from the string after impact which usually results in a sloppier response time as compared to a grand piano. So my advice to you is, get a digital piano, get really really good! Roll your pennies! Then buy a grand!
We are currently designing a curriculum for beginner guitar students from ages 6 to 10 years old!
Need your piano tuned? You might.... As the humidity in the air changes from moist (during spring and fall) to dry (the winter) your piano will surely go out of tune. A piano needs to be tuned at least twice a year and I highly recommend Lawrence Dickenson. He's an amazing piano tuner and very professional. http://musicboxpiano.com/
Chopin Study Op. 10 No.1 in C Major, not exactly a beginner piece! However it is something I am currently working on! This video shows a performance of the piece by Elias-Axel Pettersson, an artist for Mason & Hamlin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvSAq5dpH5s
