Moby Nick Fishing Charters 02.10.2020

Check out this Silver Salmon Challenge page and write up As we go through these uncertain times we find not only our day-to-day life being affected but also our favourite past times and passions. While seeing a staple in our industry forced to cancel the most anticipated event for local Lake Ontario salmon fisherman, we knew something had to be done. With the anticipation of marinas and launch ramps to open, it would be pretty discouraging to not have our annual fisherman h...itting the lake, tackle stores, ramps, marinas and gas docks. Along with not giving the operations of the charter industry yearly flocks of excited anglers who come to use the charter captains expertise in hopes to catch the prized Chinook salmon. We are a group of passionate stakeholders in this fishery that realize the massive implications of not having a major tournament event. So, we put our heads together to offer the Lake Ontario Silver Salmon Challenge". While understanding the levels of safety the government and public are taking during this pandemic, we will be taking all measures to fully comply with the given guidelines set in place. Our Event will be hosted remotely through a website allowing our entrants to purchase tickets while giving them electronic tickets for the weigh scales. This ensures social distancing and creates a paperless method of contact. This challenge will consist of what we’ve gotten accustomed to, offering a summer-long event. We will fish a 7 or 8 week schedule breaking down each week to a top 10 prize format for each week individually then having a top prize for the biggest salmon caught over the duration. While understanding many businesses and people have been affected by this pandemic financially as well as personally, we look to cater to the needs with more affordable entry fees. This opportunity is designed to create something positive in these dark times, This event is still months in the future and many things will be changed in society by then. So please pass this along to fellow anglers we would love to hear your feedback. More Information to follow!
