Meet the team! Have you met Shannon Patterson? Shannon Patterson is the Student Services Coordinator at the MOCC. With a Caribbean background, she was born in St. Vincent & the Grenadines but grew up in Barbados for most of her life. After attending Harrison College in Barbados, Shannon came to Canada to pursue her BSc in Physics at University of Alberta. Her love for leadership and personal & professional development took over when she became the Global Education Assistant ...for University of Alberta International. Since then, she’s found passion in helping persons get one step closer to their dreams and goals. What Shannon loves most about her job at MOCC is the student support. Any chance that she gets to let students know that they not alone in the pursuit of enhancing their career, she’s there! Osteopathy was founded by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still in 1874, and while Osteopathy is a protected title used by Medical Doctors only, Manual Osteopathic Therapy uses the four founding principles: 1. The body works as a single entity 2.Musculoskeletal structure impacts function 3.The body has a self governing means ... 4.The body has the capability to protect, repair and regenerate itself to preserve its function. A Manual Osteopathic Therapist must have a deep understanding for anatomy and physiology as well as pathology. It is a science, an art, and a lot of continuous research and development.
