MMAC family, Just a quick update on the new COVID-19 restrictions. Tonight’s classes will run as scheduled. The new restrictions will be in place from Nov 27th- Dec 17. During this time all grappling classes (wrestling, nogi, BJJ, mma) will be suspended. ... BMT and boxing will continue with a maximum of 8 people per class. All students/coaches must wear a mask at all times while inside the MMAC (including during training). Please limit yourself to 2 classes per week. If spots are available 12hrs prior to class, you may book into additional classes. We may make changes to the schedule depending on attendance. Please book in on Schedulicity. Private lessons may also continue but must follow the guidelines, coaches and students must wear masks and maintain a 3 meter distance at all times. Hello MMAC family, Due to the poor road conditions we’ve decided to cancel all classes this evening. Instead there will be an open mat from 5:30-7:30pm. Also, there won’t be any classes tomorrow in observance of Remembrance Day, but we’ll run another open mat at noon. All schedule changes can be found on the Schedulicity APP. We do encourage you to stay home if you don’t have a suitable vehicle for these conditions. We’re hopeful to be back to our regular schedule on Thursday! Stay safe ninjas!

Out of respect for the safety of our members the MMAC will be closed this evening (Monday, Nov 9th). MMAC Family, We are very excited to be opening June 8th and are all set up to book students in on the Schedulicity App/site! Before you book yourself in, please take note of some important rules/guidelines were following to ensure the health and safety of our members, and to provide everyone equal training time. These rules are temporary, and we will reassess as the situation evolves. ... Health and safety guidelines. 1. Do not come to class if you or a member of your household has experienced symptoms of COVID-19(coughing, fever or difficulty breathing) in the last 14 days. 2. Do not come to class if you or a member of your household has travelled outside of the province in the last 14 days. 3. Maintain a physical distance of 2 meters at all times while in the building, parking lot, and during all classes. Were limited to 10 students per class. Only students participating in the class will be permitted to enter the facility. Change rooms, shower, and the lounge area will be off limits. Please avoid gatherings in groups in the parking lot. 4. Please be extra diligent with personal hygiene. Arrive to class in clean training clothes. Please wash your hands and use hand sanitizer regularly. Clean and disinfect your gear after each class. We will be taking the time to clean mats and equipment between each class. Class booking guidelines: 1. Were asking you limit your training to 2 classes per discipline each week( 2 BJJ , 2 BMT, 2 Boxing) 2. No back to back classes. If you want to do 2 classes in 1 day please give yourself enough time to go home, change, and shower before returning to class. This will also help to reduce gatherings in the parking lot. 3. Please book your classes at least 24hrs ahead of time. If there is a spot available 12 hrs prior to the class start time its up for grabs, even if youve already booked/attended your 2 classes for the week. Please dont wait until the last minute to book your classes! 4. If you need to cancel your spot, please try to do so at least 4hrs prior to class time. This will allow people on the wait list to take the opening! 5. To book your spot go to the link below and download the Schedulicity app! Remember these are all temporary measures and were hopeful that everything will slowly get back to normal. At the same time if were not responsible we could quickly find ourselves back in lockdown. Our fall semester of kickboxing and MMA is now open for registration! Mix and match kickboxing with MMA and train 1-5 days per week! Lil Ninjas Kickboxing is based off the Bang Muay Thai Kickboxing System, created by 2x UFC coach of the year head Sensei Duane BangLudwig. Students will learn the techniques to work their way up the structured belt ranking system all in a fun, safe and encouraging atmosphere! Stingers MMA is a Mixed Martial Arts program. Students will learn ...both striking and grappling techniques as they apply to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts! New to the program is a ranking system, which is great to help kids learn to set and achieve their goals! Both MMA and Lil Ninjas Kickboxing will be taught by Sensei Kurt Southern. Sensei Kurt has 29 years of Martial Arts experience, including 21 Pro MMA bouts, 2x national wrestling champ, and holds the rank of Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Kurt is also the first and only Canadian to earn a Bang Muay Thai Black Belt under head Sensei Duane Ludwig. The MMAC is re-opening June 8th!!! A huge, genuine thank you to the MMAC family for sticking with us. We would not be able to re-open without the support from our amazing community! Jiu Jitsu friends, if youre working out at home with a grappling dummy - here are some videos you might be able to make use of. https://www.youtube.com/playlist Please let me know if youd like to see more in a particular area. It is quite limited what we can do with a bundle of towels. However for some positions Im finding that it gives a nice intermediate between solo drilling on an open mat and drilling with a live, capable partner. ... As a tool its helpful in that it will allow us to feel out grips and closing of space on a body that would otherwise be lacking in solo drilling.
