Goooood morning! Happy Monday y'all So. Times have been difficult, challenging and stressful for most. Here are MY 5 tips I personally use to DESTRESS, boost my immune system and stay focused! All backed by science!... 1. Its not new... EXERCISE ...just move. I usually start clients with 3x a week for 30 minutes. Walking, jogging, weight training. Do something you enjoy! Love what your body can do! Not what it cannot. 2. SLEEP! I cannot stress this enough. If you have issues seek medical advice if you need to. Did you know your brain chemicals connected with deep sleep are the same ones that tell your body to stop producing stress hormones!! So a crappy sleep can keep your body pumping out those hormones. Making you feel stressed! 3. The saying "you are what you eat" is SO. DAMN. TRUE!! your body becomes more stressed when you give it processed foods. Spiking your blood sugars and dropping them rapidly can cause mood swings, fatigue or anxiety. Nourish your body. Love what it can do! 4. Disconnect to reconnect. We are on our phones, tablets, TVs and computers WAY TOO MUCH! Set aside time every week to unplug. Discover new hobbies, enjoy a book! I recommend an ENTIRE EVENING at least once a week. 5. Clean/declutter your home often! Mess can create stress! Clutter in our homes can bombard us with stimuli which is not always positive. Science has proven it can help reduce anxiety! I love deep cleaning/decluttering my home at least once a month.
