As part of our ongoing Buy One Give One campaign, we have been donating masks to Phoenix Youth Programs Halifax. Who are Phoenix Youth Programs? Phoenix is a non-profit, community based organization located in K’jipuktuk/Halifax, Nova Scotia. Since 1987, Phoenix has been dedicated to supporting youth between the ages of 11 and 24, their families, and communities across multiple locations in Halifax. They are a team of caring professionals that recognizes that each perso...n who comes to them has unique needs and personal strengths. They believe that people are the leaders in their own lives; Phoenix is a leader in supporting them Young people go to Phoenix for a variety of reasons. Some have no place to live and are looking for emergency shelter or a long term place, some are struggling with relationships with family or friends, some need food or clothing and some just need someone to talk to. They made a post on Instagram in the spring requesting crafters assistance with supplying their staff and youth with reusable face masks. It's been two weeks since we sold out of our NovaScotiaStrong face mask preorder. We are still working on them and hoping to have them mailed very soon. As the world of work-from-home has become a norm with less need for custom suits and shirts, our shirt suppliers have pivoted to creating cloth face masks. We were able to work with them to design these NovaScotiaStrong face masks. This was a great opportunity to help the families from the tragedy and also help people stay... safe in our communities. Given the quantity of masks sold, the process has taken a little longer than we anticipated. Centre Vent vs Double Vent Open your closet up and your likely to see more centre vented jacket than double vented. This is more due to cost than functionality. Centre Vent - This is cut up the middle of the jacket. It is typically found on the more casual blazer and suits. It is a very American cut, but offers little benefit to your figure Despite the commonality, they offer no benefit to the physique of the wearer. Just make sure that when the jacket ...is on that the center vent is closed. An open vent means that the jacket does not fit right. Double Vents are found on either side of the back panel of the jacket. Side vents offer a great range of motion and are typically found on more modern suits. The English prefer the side vents as they are considered more proper and formal. Side vents also benefit most men's physique. Men with extra girth should always opt for side vents as the two vertical lines in the back of the suit are slimming. Side vents also allow the back of the suit to lay flat, no matter the body type. We've been quiet over here for the last couple weeks but for good reason. My big brother, Mike got married last week in Mexico. I was honored to be his best man and also help with his attire. 2019 has been a hell of year both in business and personally. I was fortunate to collaborate with a ton of amazing and creative local businesses, we were featured on both CTV and Global morning shows, increased on sales and we won Gold in the Coast Best of Weddings for Menswear. We helped a ton of men look sharp for their weddings and in boardrooms. On the personal side, my wife and I had a baby (Macy) in October and being a dad is awesome.
