The full expression of asana can be felt in the moments of transition. Transitions are connectors or bridges to the bigger picture. They can be felt as the "pause" between each pose. This pause holds knowledge and wisdom. It is a passageway full of information about our practice and our lives. And how we engage with the passageway is as important as the posture itself. Transitions shows us how we feel about the process. Is it just a means to an end or do we approach the tran...sition with as much enthusiasm and awareness as the postures themselves? And can we do this from a place of compassion, empathy and love? Encourage yourself to be present to your individual process. These virtual classes are screenshots of our hot room and are for when you want to be in the hot room, but... can't. The beauty of these are that they are accessible for up to 48 hours after the actual class in case you miss the live stream! Join us in your home away from home... while at home! Your profile name must match your profile name in Mindbody. 3. Go to Mindbody and sign up for class. Make sure your email is correct. ... 4. Add [email protected] to your address book. Otherwise the zoom link will go to your spam/junk folder. 5. Approx. 30 mins before class starts you will receive a link to register for the class! ONLY register for the class that you are joining LIVE! Otherwise ignore the registration link. We will send you a recording after class. 6. 10-15 mins before class starts, click your link. BYOBNB- bring your own bolster and blocks.... or Bolster and Blocks (for short), is a 75 minute in studio OR virtual practice on December 19th at 7pm. This is a practice in letting go and feeling supported, whether you're coming to the hot room or tuning in live, the intention is to find softness and rest. You will need: *1 bolster OR 2-3 pillows- you know your body best, firmer pillows work great for support, but softer ones may be better for a gentler practice *2 blocks OR... items that may stand in for blocks- phone books, metal cookie containers, or even a few throw pillows may serve *A throw blanket - light weight, but can be folded easily *Stuffed animals OPTIONAL OR real ones if you're joining us virtually, hehe C U there <3

To our dear community, please note that effective last Friday (November 27th), we are now asking for masks to be worn at all times in the studio, including while you're taking class in the practice room. Think of this as a.) an added layer of prevention to your practice and b.) a new way to explore your breath. Here are some tips if you're thinking about attending one of these classes but you're unsure: ... - a disposable mask is slightly more breathable in the hot room than a fabric one - come well hydrated - try to maintain a steady breath through the nose throughout class - take rest as often as you need - know that Modo is still Modo, even if we're doing it with masks on, and Modo is your home away from Home.

Have you heard of our ambassador program? It's an exchange of your time, energy and tidying expertise for unlimited yoga. It's NOT a casual volunteer position in that you're responsible for one set shift a week, for as long as you'd like (hopefully forever, because we love our ambassadors and we tend to want to keep them ). Starting on September 14th, our new "Mask to Mat" policy comes into effect. This means masks will be required in the lobby, change rooms, washrooms etc. (BUT THE TRADE OFF IS NO MORE ASKING FOR A 'HALL PASS' AT THE FRONT DESK ) You may remove your mask once you have rolled out your mat and are no longer moving around the hot room. If you prefer to practice with your mask on, that is perfectly fine, but it is not expected. The good news is that because we are implementing masks everywhere except on your mat, you will be able to choose your own mat spot to practice in the hot room, arrive a few minutes early and stay a little longer for savasana (Who else is calling that a win? ) When you are ready to leave, simply place the mask back on, then gather your things to leave the studio. Yay for longer Savasanas!

Our yoga practice teaches us that in stillness, we are given an opportunity to explore and reflect. In these last few weeks, as Saskatoon has started to come alive again and out of hibernation, but don't forget that even if we're coming from a period of great (forced) stillness as a community, it's still important to take moments of exploration and reflection as we start to venture out into the world again- perhaps moreso now than before. It's okay to turn your phone off fo...r an evening, or silence app notifications for an hour. It's okay to cancel plans for the evening and just take a quiet walk or go for a solo run. It's okay to take the weekend and refine that bread recipe from while in quarantine in the present- you might even find that your tastes have changed!
