Carri Glide-Hurst, Ph.D., Director of Translational Research in Rad Onc, Henry Ford Health System, highlights a novel MR-compatible pelvic phantom they develope...d with ModusQA, and funded by the NIH. The phantom is dynamic, allowing the bladder to be filled with liquid, and the rectum to be filled with air, to simulate abdominal motion inside the body that can negatively impact treatment plan accuracy. Henry Ford uses it to test the accuracy of their MRI-guided radiation therapy system in targeting prostate tumor movement in real time. This year we are demonstrating how to analyze low and high field MRI geometric distortions in under 10 minutes. Please be sure to stop by the Modus QA booth 5016 for a 5-minute demonstration. Our booth is located near the east entrance on the main aisle between ViewRay and Varian.

The maintenance free, hollow acrylic QUASAR MRID3D Phantom is NEMA MS 12-2016 compliant and comes pre-filled with high contrast mineral oil which is more suitable for assessing image uniformity of low and high field magnets. The system includes 3D geometric distortion analysis software with a built-in 3D DICOM Viewer and Region of Interest (ROI) selector for analyzing smaller volumes.
