THIS IS 31 Feeling truly blessed today and grateful for all the incredible individuals in my life! Furthermore truly grateful for having the opportunity and ability to actually step away from my business and take a day for me (okay I worked a little bit but who’s counting ). ... Started my day talking fitness and injury rehab with my amazing crew of fit pros over @fit.clubhouse! Then got to work with the super talented @meggshall owner/founder of @bnlsocial for her regular training session From there I got to hit my training and a workout that for once encouraged laying down DURING the workout not just after it’s done! @laineybeattie @carlachase After that was off to get some delicious food @blvdbistronv which included home made chocolate milk with sea salt #unreal Then a gorgeous walk along the @lonsdalequay ! Feeling blessed Thank you to everyone who took the time to send me messeges of how old I am and wishing me the best birthday! Appreciate you all! I’m going to finish this post with the same thing I finished the room with on @clubhouse this morning which was... Discipline = Freedom Stay disciplined to the things you need to do in order to live the life you truly want. That freedom will come if you do! Love you all! #loveup and #levelup

THERE IS NO PERFECT PLAN. Was this lift a PR? yes. And Am I pumped about that? yes. ... Did it come off of following a perfectly laid plan of programming to improve my snatch? Not in the slightest. However here’s the thing, I wasn’t training to improve this lift. I wasn’t focused on getting stronger in this way. My training over the past few months, let alone past year, has been a bit all over the place and has been focused on staying simply as generally fit as I can given my main focus being on expanding and growing my business substantially over the next two years. Training for me is a non negotiable of my life and day to day however that isn’t saying it’s of the highest intensity, two a days every day and doing all the things all the time to move that fitness needle forward. Some days I’m lucky to get 30-45 minutes in. Some weeks I get 3 days others I get 5. That’s the nature of the beast of late. And guess what!? That’s okay! Because even with that, I still show up for every training session as best as I can. I set my constraints and I put the work in, inside the gym and out of it to stay healthy. What have I had the most consistency with over the last year? My recovery and fuelling. Interesting right...it’s as though those two things play a vital role in our output. So instead of focusing on the perfect program, the perfect plan, the perfect session. Focus on showing up imperfectly for yourself every day! Focus on setting constraints not outcomes for your sessions no matter the length of time you have. Focus on the process inside and outside of the gym. PR’s don’t come around every day along our journey and when they do, however randomly like this one on Friday, it’s all that much more important to acknowledge and appreciate yourself and the journey you are on. So I challenge you to get out of your own way with trying to find the perfect plan. Continued in comments... #levelup

In today’s world it is so easy to assume, judge and otherwise think we know more about the person across from us then we actually do. We all stand here with our own perceptions, beliefs, opinions and ideas based on our past experiences. We have all gone through our own journey getting us to where we are today.... That doesn’t mean we have the right to pass judgement on someone else because they have a different perspective then you. That mentality doesn’t serve anyone. I don’t live my life based on the opinions of others. I hope you can try and do the same. That doesn’t mean you don’t show and express empathy, kindness and love when you may not agree. When you may, and most likely have, lived different experiences. You may not believe in the same things and that’s fantastic because in that is opportunity to understand more deeply. Happy Sunday everyone! #loveup & #levelup

Communication comes in many forms! . As a coach it is necessary for you to develop your skill set in both verbal and non-verbal communication to truly excel and better help those you work with. . Next time you are coaching, make note of the following:... 1) Verbal Cues Used 2) Visual Cues Used 3) Tactile Cues Used 4) How you are standing/positioning yourself 5) The tone you are using while communicating . There’s much more to effective communication then those 5 points but we have to start somewhere. . Be greater then the reps and sets. . #LevelUp See more

Do you spend more time observing and listening or disregarding and speaking as a coach?! . Effective coaching at its core comes down to communication - both verbally and non-verbally. . Effective communication starts with precise listening and focused observation.... . My challenge to you is this: more consciously observe the interactions around you during the remainder of this week. . Be it at the gym with your fellow coaches and members, at the grocery store or out on a walk. . Pay attention and see if you can identify when someone is truly listening and then responding or if they are responding with a pre-written idea in their head and never truly listened to begin with. . As coaches the more we listen and observe, the more we will be able to help! . #LevelUp See more
