Mini sessions are such a wonderful chance to get to spend a little one-on-one time with some kids I don't always get time alone with. I've already got some early favourites.

Well, hello there! This little babe's Mama is celebrating a birthday today! Happy birthday, Kasia!

The vast majority of my clients have young families, so when I get to work with teenage siblings who genuinely enjoy one another's company AND a location I've been wanting to use for ages, you'd better believe I'm going to run with that! The Laframboise family were so awesome.

Rich and I had a glorious week away for some hiking and whale watching in the Saguenay region last week, but I'm back at my desk now and things are rolling! Joshua and Christina's day isn't one I'll soon forget. Summer lesson #4,842: don't try to drink from the hose when it's on full-pressure spray.

These two hung on through the ever-changing pandemic regulations. They hung on through a week of foreboding weather forecasts. They hung on through a wedding day with sometimes-torrential downpours and thunder. Then they hung on to each other while we had a ball doing some creative work in a quiet corner just outside the barn at the end of our evening. Happy moving day, guys! I'm happy to see the sun shining for you!

If you told me this morning that this portrait (or any outdoor, uncovered portrait, for that matter) was going to be possible, I'm not sure I would've believed you - the radar certainly suggested a different plan was going to be needed. Joshua and Christina, thank you for being brave, being flexible and being so crazy about one another. We love you both!

Kristin and I are SO excited to join Christina & Joshua today! We're bringing the very best of our creativity, along with our rain coats, and can't wait to see these two say their vows this afternoon. Happy wedding day, you two!

If you've ever wondered whether I think it's worth making time to have two minutes with your dad so that he can really take in the full impact of seeing you in your wedding dress for the first time, the answer is a resounding yes.

Things are a little bit nuts over here and I feel like I'm up to my eyeballs in "stuff." It happens sometimes, right? But you know what's making me feel better? This session. I wish I had enough words to describe how much joy this family has brought to my heart. You don't get kids with hearts like these two have by accident. You get them by putting in the work, and Courtney has clearly done the work because this family is nothing short of amazing. I'll sing my way around the park with these guys any day!
