Hello friends, we all hope that you're enjoying summer and finding ways to stay safe & active during the pandemic. We are sharing a few updates and notices through Facebook for you and will continue to do so as the COVID-19 situation evolves. Follow up posts will include... * the most recent update from Volleyball BC... * opportunity for girls to be active in the community * a request for information from Volleyball Canada and University of Calgary researchers Momentum Volley does not run any programming during the summer months and although there has been a sincere interest by all parties, the summer of 2020 has proven to be quite challenging to wrap our heads around. In the meantime, we encourage you to engage in volleyball specific/like activities within your household and/or bubble. As August passes we will be working on a club-specific return to play plan in preparation for a 2021 season... whatever that may look like, we want to be prepared to pivot accordingly. Once this is in place we will share our plans for future programming with you. Until then... Stay Active Stay Healthy Cheers!

In case you were wondering... and we suspect you are. As the Province of BC navigates our "Restart Plan" you might be wondering what is the state of volleyball and sport as we move through the pandemic. As our governing body, Volleyball BC continues to work diligently with our Provincial Government, viaSPORT, and fellow Provincial Sport Organizations to create a safe and appropriate pathway for a return to sport. We trust that their expertise and guidance will act as a beacon... for our return and continue to monitor their communication channels. We know they are working hard to shape the future of the sport and appreciate their efforts. As our communities start to re-open it is important to remember that we are still navigating the early stages of the "re-start" plan. Perhaps it would help our "sports minds" if we think of this as our collective game plan. Success in team sport has always required a unified effort focused on a singular purpose. Amateur sport has long been lauded for its ability to instil values of teamwork, responsibility, respect, and commitment. The demands of the task at hand haven't changed. Volleyball Canada has provided a helpful graphic outlining some of the items for consideration and a potential progression to return to volleyball. Please note that this is merely a guideline and all activities should adhere to public policy and the recommendations of the Provincial Health Officer. Although subject to change, the graphic does provide a glimpse of what a return to volleyball may look like. Stay active. Stay healthy.
